Roman Catholic.
Edward Carylls of Benton's was presented  for recuransancy in 1577 and  again in 1580
Two Priests ROBERT HAMPTON and RICHARD STRADFOLD were searched for at Benton's but not found ,giving rise to the rumours of priest Holes being hidden in the buildings.
THOMAS CARYLLS who died in 1617 was known as a devoted Catholic.
There were eight known Catholics in 1620 most  of them members of the Cook's family. in 1676 there 40 .Eighteen were pardoned in 1685.
In 1676 there were
Quakers, Roman Catholics, Presbyterians,  Congregationalists.
QUAKER.
JOHN SHAW a Quaker was jailed in 1659 for refusing to pay tithes
And in 1770 open  air meetings were held in Dragons Green.
BAPTIST.
In 1772 there were 11 Baptists in Shipley and  its believed that Blonks House was used for worship.
PURITAN.
John Buckly carried on with his ministry  after being ejected from the church at the restoration and in 1672 was  licensed to preach at Goringlee.  he was buried in Shipley Church Yard1669.
WESLEYAN
The Wesleyan Chapel was built at Dragons Green and registered for worship in 1880
it was sold to The scout movement in 1951 after  standing unused.
