| 11-19-2002 Drowning Pool have recorded a new track featuring guest vocalist Rob Zombie! The song, titled "Man Without Fear," will appear on the soundtrack album to the Fox Motion Picture Daredevil, in stores February 4th, 2003. The movie opens February 14th, 2003. | 01-09-03 The remaining members of DROWNING POOL have started rehearsing again this week and now will actively seek out a replacement for frontman Dave Williams, who passed away last August. Bass player Stevie Bento told Australia's Undercover News their motivation in moving forward is the example set by AC/DC. "We have actually talked about the 'Back In Black' record as a motivation a little bit," he said. "We wanted to have time off, especially through out the holidays. We didn't hardly rehearse. Monday we started back to rehearsing and we are going to audition some people. If we find somebody then great, if we don't, well, we've all had offers to go and play with other bands. But the three would really like to stick together if we can. We have been doing this together for a long time. We lost one of our closest friends. I'd hate to lose the other two. We are going to try and stick together. I also just don't want to grab some singer and make a record just to do it. It has to definitely be the right situation". |
| "[AC/DC's success following the death of singer Bon Scott] is a great example," Stevie said. "They overcame it and went and made a great record. You can't deny how great 'Back In Black' was. Even today it sells 5,000 copies a week. It is a great record". DROWNING POOL have recorded a new song, "The Man Without Fear", for inclusion on the upcoming "Daredevil" sountrack, with Rob Zombie filling in as lead singer. "We had already had that booked to do," Stevie said. "We were going to do it as soon as Ozzfest was over and then while on Ozzfest we made really good friends with Rob Zombie and his band. We hung out with him on the bus many, many nights. After Dave's passing we were all still in shock and didn't want to sit around the house doing nothing, wallowing in our own misery. We were good friends with Rob so it was an easy phone call to make. We just called him up and said we were going to do this song and asked him if he'd please do it with us. He had a movie coming out so he was already in the studio working on that. We just flew up to his studio and did the song in a day. It came really quick. It was one of those songs that we almost feel guilty about because it was no work at all." |
