Chaparral Middle School is located in Chaparral, NM, a community just across the New Mexico state line from the northeast part of El Paso, Texas and about 35 miles SE of Las Cruces, NM.
The school currently contains about 460 7th and 8th grade students. Last year our 6th grade students returned to us after being in another school for a few years. During 1999-2000 we began our first year as a year-round-school. As we begin our second year (2000-2001) we will have about 750 students on our year round schedule.
The school is 8 years old at present and this year brings us our first new principal since the school was opened. We are part of the Gadsden School district in the state of New Mexico, one of the fastest growing districts in the state.
