In Jo Ann's Honor

The 7th and 8th grade children at St. Joseph's School, in Imperial, purchased a beautiful dogwood tree in Jo Ann’s honor. On Arbor Day, Mike Scaglione and his son Matthew, helped plant the tree, next to the school building.

Jo Ann was very fond of trees and flowers, I’m sure she is admiring this tree from up above. Another tree was also planted in honor of the Markowski parents.  The school put on a beautiful ceremony for the tree planting festivities. The school children sang songs, and they read scripture from the bible, Fr. Sigmond blessed the trees.

The tree is a wonderful reminder to everyone, just how many hearts and lives that Jo Ann touched. It will be comforting to the family to see the tree each time they go up to church and school and watch it grow for many years to come.

A plaque was erected just under Jo Ann's tree, so that people for years to come, will know that this tree symbolizes life, as they watch it grow.

Thank you 7th and 8th grade for giving Jo Ann such a wonderful gift. I‘m sure she loves it.
