( D )    CHRISTMAS - THE LIE

The lie of Christmas is that it is a celebration of remembering and honoring the birth of the Christ child.  The scriptures provide very severe and harsh words concerning lies and deceit and their result;

7.  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8.  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
-  Revelation 21:7-8

27.  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.  -  Rev. 21:27

16.
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17.  A proud look,
a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18.  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19.
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.  -  Proverbs 6:16-19

19.  The lip of truth shall be established for ever:
but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.
21.  There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22.
Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
-  Prov. 12:19-22

42.  Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43.  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45.  And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46.  Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
47.
He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. -  John 8:42-47

8.  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9.  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and
lying wonders,
10.  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie:
12.  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.  -  2 Thessalonians 2:8-12

Lying wonders, the deceivableness of unrighteousness and strong delusion.  These matters end in damnation and that which perishes.  Christmas is a deceit and must be rejected and condemned by the Christian;

16.  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.  - Titus 1:16

The deceitful work of Christmas is a particularly wicked deceit because it feigns a honoring and worshipping of the Lord Jesus.  Therefore, because it is a lie, Christmas is instead an abomination and not an honor.   It is an abominable act that turns people from the truth which results in denying God ( Titus 1:13-16 ).   The Christian professes that they know God and yet in a hypocritical turn continues to take part in an activity which celebrates the open shame of Christ.  A work which is abominable, disobediant and reprobate.  Christmas presents itself to be good and holy when in truth it is wicked and unholy.  Other scriptural examples of similar deceptions ( i.e., evil representing itself to be good ) are these;

3.  And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli,
Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there.  -  1 Samuel 1:3

12.  Now the sons of Eli were
sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord.
-  1 Samuel 2:12

22.  Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
23.  And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
24.  Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord's people to transgress.
25.  If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him?
Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them. -  1 Samuel 2:22-25

Elis' sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were the priests of the Lord and at the same time were the sons of Belial and did not really know the Lord.  Consequently, the Lord Himself slew both of them.  In the example of Elis' sons,  the scriptures reveal that people can have titles and hold positions that are supposed to be representative of holiness and representative of the Lord God but in reality are workers of sin and wickedness.   As it was with Hophni and Phinehas, so also it is with Christmas which falsely presents itself to be a holy activity when truthfully it is not of God and is not a holy celebration of Christ.   Moreover the scriptures write;

20.  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  -  Isaiah 5:20

13.  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
-  2 Corinthians 11:13-15

16.  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.  -  Titus 1:16

5.  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
-  2 Timothy 3:5

Jesus stated these sobering words regarding people who feign honoring and worshipping Him;

6.  And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of
none effect by your tradition.
7.  Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8.  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
-  Matt. 15:6-9

6.  He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written,
This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7.  Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8.  For laying aside the commandment of God,
ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.  -  Mark 7:6-8

13.  Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me,
but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:   -  Isaiah 29:13

Christmas is a unholy activity which God and Jesus never commanded nor gave permission to take part in.  Therefore, it is a tradition of men and a vain worship of Jesus Christ.  Here is a good webpage to visit and read how the Mass of Christ ( i.e., Christmas ) does not agree with the truth of Gods' Word and thus is a lie: http://www.daveandangel.com/CRN/Catholic_Catechisms_Mass.html
