Comedy Cooling

Easy job to fit another fan at the back and then time for the masterpiece…..if I wanted to overclock the graphics card it needed to have some serious cooling. One fan in the front of the case blowing air directly towards it wasn't enough. So out comes the knife and an old mineral water bottle and a bit of tape and there you go… a comedy voodoo cooler.

It's got the 8cm fan pulling air in from outside and that little old fan stuck on the front blowing air right onto the heatsink. It might look like shit but there is a real blast of air coming from it….

So that's it…. carefully lower the case on and plug in the top fan and thar she blows……..
Cpu temp is now down to 27-28°C, so a little cleaning and £1.65 worth of fans has dropped the cpu temp by over 10°C. There's no temperature sensor near the voodoo 3 2000 but its definitely a lot cooler. Before the comedy cooler was installed if you touched the heatsink after running the 3dmark 2000 default test it would ….well….burn you basically. Now try the same thing and its just a little warm to the touch.
