Cooling... Right, the plan was to put an 80cm exhaust fan at the back of the case, another fan blowing air in from the front of the case and a third fan in the lid blowing down directly on the motherboard just in front of the cpu. The case has a mount for a fan at the front but only has tiny air holes at the very bottom. Time for Mr drill to meet Mr Clunky. |

Before the three fans on order from ebuyer (55p each!) arrived I gave the new dust free Mr Clunky a test run. Before the great cleaning and clutter removal job Sisoft Sandra was showing a cpu temp of around 38-39°C. Now with no dust to clog up its fan or heatsink it averaged 33-34°C, not only that but the fan's speed had risen by roughly 400rpm. Pretty good result. |

Once the fans arrived it was time for major
case surgery. After a lot of drilling and hacking
.the metal they
use to make this case is thicker than the metal on my car
..I finally
got a hole in the top big enough to take one of the fans.
