A Brief History: With the advent of the World Wide Web as an entity, the importance in communication between computers has increased. There has also been a gap between the different platforms, which has been a thorn in the sides of programmers everywhere. Java may be the solution to both of these problems. The java language originated at Sun Microsystems in 1991 from a project to unite different electronic devices with a common language. Java offers the versatility of the object-oriented programming paradigm along with an amazingly simple language structure. It is designed to be fast, efficient, and easily ported to other hardware devices. Because of these properties, java is ideal for cross-platform development and use over the World Wide Web.

Here are a few java programs I have written:

• AnimatedButton: An animated button that can be used for webpages.
• Fardenay Game Engine: A demonstration of my work on a game engine for a myst-like game. (WARNING - the applet is ~150K with images)
• InternetChessv2: This is a simple chess applet.
• InternetChessv2.05: This is a new and improved version of Internet Chess.
• NumericalMethods: This applet is used to demonstrate different ways to approximate an ordinary differential equation (ODE).
• RandomLinker: This applet can be used to link to remote pages randomly.
