well-known Philip Pullman's trilogy staged in London - at the National Theatre!

      Timothy Dalton who once told a journalist of low salaries for actors at the British theatres as of the reason for his decision to leave London stage, had returned there some months ago to take part in the new production of the National Theatre, based on Philip Pullman's bestseller trilogy "His Dark Materials" (December 2003 - March 2004).

      Although a little girl is the main character of the book (her name is Lyra - in association with the constellation of Lyra or, probably, - with the musical instrument), in the eyes of some critics the novels' plot is not for children, and, if to attack the problem at the grass-roots, it might be considered as the satanic one. The contrary responses, receiving different awards in the field of literature, successful advertising the theatrical performance and also the radio version BBC, probable screen adaptation in the nearest time and the books' wide spreading in the USA and already in Russia ("The Northern Lights") - all creates a good background for the successful promotion of the production everywhere in the market of entertainment industry. The performance was fully booked up in the middle of December 2003!

      It's noteworthy, that Timothy Dalton, the one of the most popular actor to play parts of romantic heroes and, in the eyes of many his admirers - the best James Bond ever, during the last years works in the films for children, for the young or for family seeing: "Time Share" (2000), "Possessed" (2000), "American Outlaws" (2001), "Looney tunes: back in action" (2003).
