Redesign of the interface for the IITZeus software for the aerodynamic analysis, which involves the study of user tasks and responses involved in the fields of Computational Fluid Dynamics.Performed Heuristic Evaluation for the interface and tried different interaction techniques.Alternatives suggested were in the form of object action paradigm, appropriate feedback methods and visual clues, identifying user task rather than machine task, learnability, modularity, degree of customization.Visual design aspects as well as look and feel of the interface are evaluated and was given a face lift with consideration to the Gestalt Laws and chucking as well as cognitive ergonomics. Some design inputs are derived from the natural human tasks and behavioral responses. For that we devised tasks which donot involve computer to reveal the user mental model.
