Air Traffic Control is a vital resource to the RAFv. Without it the realism factor would drop. Air Traffic Control is operated under Personnel/Training Command and there are currently 8 controller spaces.

All controllers are required to go for a test session with the Chief ATC controller or his deputy every six months.

Selection / Training
Student ATC controllers are sent a pack containing all information about how ATC works within the RAFv. Initially they will begin with ground control at a frontline base where movements will be quite high. At all times the students will be under the watch of a senior controller.

Gradually the student will progress to full Tower control and onto depature/arrival ctrl. As the Controller gains seniority promotion to higher ranks becomes neccesary and most ATC Controllers will be at Flt Lt rank on completion of training.

Fighter Controller
A new role is to be introduced in the shape of the Fighter Controller. More info will be posted on the news page.
