I plant my own garden they come to me. beautiful people wearing saccharine smiles and their voices plant deceitful seeds. I laugh at their foolishness their seeds will not grow.
My hair is short My life-style is Mexican I do not apologize for my pride is like a mountain Some call me: Mexican, Mestizo, Chicano. Or whatever their prejudices dictate.
I am a noble warrior by heritage My blood is Indian. Tomorrow ignorant people will invent new names to divide us. My people will use them unwisely, but I am Indian
and my hair is still short I do not apologize.
My people march fast as the wind and I serve them, as: Mexican, Mestizo, Chicano. My blood is Indian.

My mother's religion was Catholic I spurn no religion. My belief is in the Great Spirit, the light of the sun enlightens. Humility is my credence but I do not seek permission or approval. Where is Unity. My heart is pure as the red blood in my veins. The Great Spirit keeps my feathers while foolish people adorn and count their prayers. Apples and walnuts grow on trees. The Great Spirit keeps my feathers. My spirit is awake for I see beauty where there is none.
My judges wear black so they dress me black like them, but the Great Spirit's brilliant light illuminates my path and dresses me red for No one! can sit at the center of my sacred fire. I am happy Great Spirit I am Indian.

Where is Unity? For those who do not trust enough will not be trusted. there is unity in the Sacred Pipe while others are but reflections. True peace is within each of us. There is unity the circle is unbroken.
I plant my own garden they come to me. Beautiful people wearing saccharine smiles and their voices plant deceitful seeds. I laugh attheir fooishness their seeds will not grow.
Where ever life goes Unity goes with me.
