Welcome To My Haunted Valley

"My lifelong love affair with the paranormal began when I was a very small child listening to the stories my grandmother (a local faith healer) told me. My interests have encompassed every discipline of the paranormal, but ghosts, legend and lore, has always been my favorite. As it were, although I had had encounters with at least one ghost and the "feelings" of ghosts one sometimes get, it wasnt until we bought our ranch in whats locally known as "The Valley of the Trains" that my own paranormal experiences, and that of my son and husband, really started to escalate. Little did we know when we bought our ranch, that it was located in perhaps one of the potentially most haunted areas of Iowa. We have it all here. Bloody Indian battles, abandoned mining towns and coal mines, Indian burial grounds, the tragic true tale of Little Lott, the legend of the Kate Shelley High Bridge, a spillway in the adjoining river that has claimed at least 8 lives, many graveyards over 100 yrs.old. If any place has the right to be haunted, its this one, but we didnt know any of that when in 1992, my husband Chuck, had his encounter with a strange portal or vortex out next to our dairy barn. Since that episode, we have had other strange occurrences, and his experience alone, has made us start searching for answers. This eventually led us to the AGS. Now, with the time and help of others in the AGS, we are about to embark on our first major investigation-our own valley. I feel very fortunate to belong to and work with such a fine group of ghost "experts".
The background on this page is a favorite picture of our valley showing a "face"? in the clouds and a sunbeam shining through in the exact place my husband experienced the vortex. Can you see it?
