Positions Juggling (1/23/02) Announced ealier was the re-acquisition of Goalie Todd Albala, Dragons management was unable to buy out the remaining time in Todds contract and so Todd will not be joining the team until next season. This sudden development has caused the management team to juggle the roster a bit. Joining us full time for this season will be former defensemen Keith Burr, Keith will most likely fir in on the wing recently vacated by new goalie Doug Stewart. Stewart ever the team player graciously volunteered to step back in to mind the nets until the contract negotiations can be worked out with Albala's agent.
In another development, team management has not heard from defensemen Dave Spencer since the end of last season, leaving management to wonder if he's trying to get his long term contract re-negotiated.
Newest Dragon Paying Dividends (1/20/02) The Dragons began the Winter Season tonight with a 3-1 win over Team Arctic. Leading the way with 2 goals was Mike Connors. Seeing his first action as a Dragon was Mike Giovino and he chipped in with what proved to be the game winner. Next game slated for 1/29 at 6PM against Team Junk.
First Game 1/20/2002 9PM (1/14/02) The newest schedule is slated to begin on Sunday January 20th at 9PM. Hope to see all of you there.
Gaglione Wins Assists Award (1/7/02) PISA announced its awards winners for the recently closed season and Dragons winger Jim Gaglione was awarded the Assists Trophy. We here want to congratulate Jim on his accomplishment. This is the first award received by a Dragon since the "GAG" line garnered all three scoring awards couple of years ago.
Leaving the Dragons (1/7/02) I personally want to thank Goalie Chris Cronkite for the recent seasons he spent with our club. While we did not get him a championship it was a pleasure to have such a fine goalie and individual on the team. Thanks Chris, you will be missed. Take care of the back and the little one! In related moves, Dragons ownership announced the signing of Goalie Todd Albala. Back after a one season hiatus with the "D" DEK The Zoo. Also announced this week is the acquisition of center Mike Giovino.
Cutoff Date 1/5/2001 (12/31/01) We need to get the Deposit down for the new season by the 5th of January. Those wishing to return please make an effort to get some cash down on the next season.
Broken Wrist Sidelines Younger Connors (12/19/01) East Hartford Blades management announced late last evening that Captain Dennis Connors would be lost for the remainder of their season. Injury suffered in roller game for the Oscars team. See the East Hartford Blades home page for more details.
