Danielle's Work Dress





Costume Description
Blue/teal green servants clothing of serviceable wool or linen, very lightly patterned. Ankle length. Multiple parts: Long-sleeved white chemise with drawstring scoop neck. Poof-ed at sleeve cap and elbow, gathered to wrist. Separate under-bodice of blue/teal green that stops below the bust (see picture #2), laces at sides. Overdress of same blue-green that goes over the under-bodice and laces up the front, box pleated in back. Trimmed in gold braid. Gauntlets cover the forearm and upper arm, tied to each other with green-gold cording, attach at sleeve cap. Worn with thigh high (wool?) hose in tan (see picture #3).

As part of her servant duties, Danielle acts as a beekeeper and gets to wear a snazzy hat, apron, and gloves (picture #5).

Historical Reference
Thanks to the cosprop.co.uk concept sketches, we know for certain that the vast majority of the costumes in Ever After were inspired by historical paintings, e.g., Danielle's Princess Gown, Danielle's Blue Library Gown, Jacqueline's Green Brocade Gown. We've been able to identify many of the paintings seen in these concept sketches, but since we don't have sketches for each costume, we have to speculate for some.
