| Fritz 5.32- Less than a decade ago, this was quite possibly the strongest commercially available engine. Now, thanks to a German magazine, it is available to you for free from the internet. For those players trying to really 'up' their game, getting a computer program is a must. Use it as a sparring partner or to analyze your own games. It installs in German, but you can change it with a few mouse clicks. |
| Perfect Opening Book- Install this as a supplement to the Fritz 5.32 program to make the computer as an opponent even more dangerous. The opening book goes 8 moves deep in some variations, so why not spend your time practicing against something worthwhile? Without this, Fritz will often play very weak in the opening. |
| Chess Tactic Worksheets- I created a packet of puzzles for some of my students to test their tactical abilities. Some of the puzzles are quite easy, others are very hard.
