April 21st, 2007: SCI Scholastic Team State Finals, Honey Creek MS

INDIVIDUALS
November 11, 2006
-Austin Quick, 6th grader at Eastwood Elementary, finished tied for 3rd place in the 6th grade division at the State Grade Championships.

January 20th, 2007
-Brandon Fisher, 6th grader at Eastwood Elementary, placed 1st at the Eastwood Practice Tournament with a perfect 4/4 score.

March 17th, 2007
-Ross Tepe, 4th grader at Eastwood Elementary, placed joint 1st in the unrated section at the Elkhart County Scholastic Tournament.
-Cameron Ritenour and Brandon Fisher, both of Eastwood Elementary, tied among others for second place in the booster section with scores 4/5.

March 20th, 2007
-A 10 board simul was held at the Goshen Middle School chess club against Gerald Roberts.  Gerald Finished a perfect 10-0.  Honorable mention goes to Timothy and Peter Vukovich, who lasted longer than all others.  The former won a chess book for his game.

March 27th, 2007
-Gerald Roberts finished clear first in the reserve section of the Elkhart County Club Championships with a perfect 6/6 score.  The last round game with Tom Smith has been annotated in video and text form on the "Games" page.

April 21st, 2007
-Ben Kragt, 6th grader at Goshen Middle School, finished with 5/5 on third board at the SCI Team State Finals.
-Ross Tepe and Dylan Ritenour, both of Eastwood, scored 4/5 on the day.

April 26th, 2007
-Austin Quick, 6th grader, became the Eastwood Club Champion after winning the annual tournament with a perfect 4/4 score.
-Sam Sutton, 3rd grader, was the highest finisher for 3rd/under.  He is a former Indiana Kindergarten State Champion.

July 28th, 2007
-Gerald Roberts finished clear first in the Elkhart Alumni Tournament at the Bristol Public Library with a perfect 4/4 score.
-Brandon Fisher, formerly of Eastwood, finished quite impressively with 3/4.
-Dylan Ritenour, 4th grader at Eastwood, finished 5th on tiebreaks with 2/4.  Nice job!
