Project Info

Unknown module with UPD78C14, and TTL/CMOS electronic. Probably industrial electronic. I cutted original TPD57591 for TPD58591 and TPD59591 and latter was scrappad to get rid of electronic which wasnt interesting for me. CPU is configured for internal memory but latch 74373 is present on board so I think it can be modified for external memory system.

I'm interested in assembler writing for this UC and I already compiled some soft for it, but not tested yet. This is what I calling 'retro' CPU project. Even if this CPU is very slow, still quite complicated system can be written in 48 KB memory space.

Update:When I looked at connections it became obvious that modification of this circuit would be very difficult or impossible, because extender ports are connected to various devices on board. So, more probably this module will be disassembled and CPU transferred to reserve.

There is another module with UPD78C14 HF-17202 and I also had 3rd CPU as reserve (catalogued as UC-212) but I cannot find it, so possible that I scrapped it. Practically the same instruction set is used in other NEC 87AD family modules:
  • UPD7811 HF-12211
  • UPD78C10 HF-17233
  • UPD7810 HF-17244#1
  • UPD7810 HF-17244#2
