NEW Traffic Enforcement Units!!

I'm very very excited to see one of these cars in my hometown! They will be coming to more areas as they are needed. They are specifically made to target high traffic areas, and selective enforcement. They are very different than the "slicktops" of yesterday.

These vehicles will be seen in colors different than MSP blue. They will be offered in standard Ford colors of black, gray, green, red, white, light blue, and tan. The reason for this is to be stealthier! They do not have the traditional red strobes on the exterior of the car and are only marked on one side of the car. According to The State Of Michigan Vehicle Code, the minimum marking of a police vehicle is to be marked on the right side of the vehicle.

See if you can spot any of the lights on this vehicle. How many do you count? The two strobes usually mounted on the pushbars are now behind the grille. The outboard mirror strobes have been replaced with red LEDs (which are clear until lit up). There have been additions in LED lighting as well. There are LEDs above the mirror, on the rear deck and even in the rear door windows pointed to ward the side!

GOOD JOB MSP!!!
