( B )   CHRISTS FLESH AND BLOOD OFFERING
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The scriptures provide sufficient and clear evidence that is was the physical body of Jesus Christ which was offered for sins in order to propitiate Gods' wrath for sin.  In the book of Romans, the apostle Paul writes these words in regard to Christs act of propitiation;

25.  Whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
-  Romans 3:25

Notice that Paul writes the words,
propitiation through faith in his blood. Paul makes a direct connection between Christs act of propitiation and Christs blood.  With this in mind, the scriptures reveal that Christs propitiatory act had to do with specific regard to His physical body.   That is to say, His flesh and blood.  Do other scriptures further substantiate this connection between Christs physical body and propitiation ?  Yes they do.  For example, further examination of verse 25 in Romans reveals a connection of the propitiatory act of Christ and His blood was for the purpose of the remission of sins.  This evidence in regard to Christs' body being the offering for propitiation of sins is further proven in the gospels and the book of Acts as well as the book of Revelation.  Those scriptures state;

[26] And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
[27] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
[28] For
this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
- Matt. 26:26-28  ( also see Mark 14:22-24 & Luke 22:19-20 )

28. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God,
which he hath purchased with his own blood.
- Acts 20:28

5.  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and
washed us from our sins in his own blood, -  Revelation 1:5

The blood of Jesus Christ is directly connected in being offered for the removal of sins.  The blood of Jesus Christ is therefore directly connected to His act of propitiation.  The scriptural conclusion in regard to the manner of sacrifice which Christ offered to God in order to satisfy Gods holy judgement of sin was a physical sacrifice.  Christ offered His flesh and blood on the cross for our sins.  Thereby removing Gods hostility and enmity away from sinful mankind.  Hostility and enmity due to our sins and sinful nature.   Thus, because of Christs' suffering and death for sins on the cross and shedding of His blood, this propitiatory act achieved peace between God and mankind.   What Christ was able to offer God in regard to our sin was a physical offering.  Once again, other scriptures verify this to be the case;

3. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh: -  Romans 8:3

[18] For
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:  -  I Peter 3:18

24.  Who his own self
bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  -  1 Peter 2:24

19. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest
by the blood of Jesus,
20. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say,
his flesh; -  Heb. 10:19-20

[13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
[15]
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
[16]
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: -  Eph. 2:13-16

[20] And,
having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
[21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now
hath he reconciled
[22]
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:  -  Col. 1:20-22

With this scriptural evidence, it can be concluded that the physical offering of Jesus Christ, His flesh and blood, is directly related to His act of propitiation.  A substitutionary act of suffering whereby Jesus was made to be sin in order that the hostility, enmity and wrath of God could be directed away from sinful mankind towards Jesus and thereby sin is condemned in Jesus.  This marvelous act of love by Jesus Christ has two important results.   First, Christs propitiatory act resulted in peace and reconcilitation being achieved and accomplished between God, the offended party, and sinful mankind, the offending party.  Second, because Christ was the propitiation for our sins and iniquities, then therefore Christ provided the way whereby we do not have to be condemned for our sins. But rather we are now able to obtain eternal life with God, if we have faith in what Jesus Christ did for us.
