( C )   CHRISTS FLESH AND BLOOD OFFERING THE REMOVAL OF ENMITY, MAKING RECONCILIATION
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The letters of Paul and Peter reveal characteristic evidence which proves the propitiatory act of Jesus Christ for our sins by means of His physical body.  The first piece of evidence is in Romans 8:3 in which the scriptures conclude that the purpose for God having sent His Son into the world to become a man of flesh was for the purpose of being able to condemn sin in the flesh.  The holy justice of God requires a judgement of sin because of the offensiveness and wickedness of sin ( Psalms 14:1-3 / Isaiah 64:6 / Romans 3:9-18 ), sins ability to separate mankind from God ( Isaiah 59:1-2 & 64:7 / Hebrews 7:22-26) and the result of sin which ends in death;

4. Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.  - Ezekiel 18:4

23.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
-  Romans 6:23

So we have this sin and iniquity problem of all mankind ( 1 Kings 8:46 / 2 Chronicles 6:36 / Romans 3:23 / Ecclesiastes 7:20 ) which requires the judgement and condemnation of the holy justice of God who Himself is holy ( Deut. 32:4 / Leviticus 11:44-45 / Romans 6:23 ).  However, in addition to that truth and reality, is the truth and reality that God has no desire to destroy mankind;

9.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  -  2 Peter 3:9

Therefore, for God to be able to effectively judge and condemn sin and yet save mankind, He needed an offering whereby He could accomplish both tasks.  The offering which is provided to do this is the man Jesus Christ.  It is in the flesh body of Jesus which God makes to be sin ( Romans 8:3 / 2 Corinthians 5:21 / 1 Peter 2:24 ).  With this being done, Jesus having become sin in His flesh then suffered for sins on the cross and thereby tasted, ( experienced ), death for every person;

9.  But we see
Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. -  Heb. 2:9

[18] For
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:  -  I Peter 3:18

24.  Who his own self
bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  -  1 Peter 2:24

Jesus directed the hostility and wrath of Gods holy judgement of sin towards Himself while He was crucified on the cross of Calvary.  Jesus suffering the condemnation for our sins in His flesh body on the cross provided the means of propitiation for sins whereby Gods wrathful judgement for sins was satisfied as He was able to condemn sin in Christs body on the cross.   Thus making peace and reconciliation between God and mankind.  Again we see in the scriptures this propitiatory act by Christs physical body, that is to say His flesh and blood;

[13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
[15]
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
[16]
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: -  Eph. 2:13-16

Take particular note as the apostle writes that it was in the flesh of Christ whereby God abolishes the enmity.  Enmity being the active hatred, opposition and animosity between God who is holy and mankind who is sinful.  This animosity was due to our sin and iniquity, the offensiveness of those things and the separation from God which those things cause.  This animosity, enmity, was done away with in the flesh of Christ on the cross and the blood which He poured out.  Thus resulting in peace and reconciliation between God and mankind.   So, within this section of scripture is revealed how God judged sin and thus satisfied and fulfilled His holy justice which by its holy nature demanded a means to condemn sin and thus do away with sin without condemning and destroying mankind.  Jesus Christ took that judgement and condemnation for sin and iniquity, which is death, upon Himself so that we would not have too.   Jesus was our substitute, our vicarious offering who suffered and died for sins on our behalf.  Colossians further verifies the words in Ephesians;

[20] And, having made peace through
the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
[21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now
hath he reconciled
[22]
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:  -  Col. 1:20-22

Notice that it is the blood of Christ which provided the means for peace whereby mankind can come near to God.  Thus resulting in reestablishing an avenue for direct relationship and fellowship between God and mankind.  It was in the death of the flesh of Christ whereby the enmity, ( that is to say the active hatred and hostility between God and sinful mankind due to sin ), was abolished.   Again, in verse 16 of Ephesians the apostle further specifies that the abolishing, the slaying and thus removal of the enmity between God and sinful mankind, took place in the body of Jesus when He was on the cross.  The result of this propitiatory act of Jesus ultimately resulted in making and achieveing peace between God, the offended party, and sinful mankind, the offending party.
The apostle Peter further confirms this propitiatory act of Jesus;

[18] For
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:   -  I Peter 3:18

The scriptures clearly reveal that Christ, by means of His physical offering, His flesh and blood body on the cross, was the manner in which Christ suffered the condemnation for mankinds sins.  And therefore, that propitiation provided the means for God to judge and condemn sin on behalf of all mankind.  Jesus Christ suffered and died for our sins so that we would not have too.  Therefore making peace between God and mankind.  And it was not mankind who could provide such an offering to make this kind of peace with God, but it was God Himself who provided the offering.  As obvious as this statement may seem, it is important to know and realize this truth whereby we can begin to know and realize the manner of marvelous and gracious love which God has towards all people in order that we should live and not perish eternally.
