Towns do not come much smaller than Cocklebiddy on the Western Australian side of the Nullarbor Plain some 440 kms east of Norseman. Here the road runs straight as an arrow across sandy scrub and saltbush desert. At night dazzling lights ahead may come from a truck that is still 20km away. This is the harsh heart of Australia and although the road is sealed it is not a journey to be faced ill prepared. At Cocklebiddy you can see the ruins of the old Aboriginal mission and if you have a four wheel drive you can see the bird sanctuary at Eyre otherwise this can really be considered as a rest stop or overnight stay. Facilities available include Hotel \ Motel and caravan facilities along with Fuel.
