The 100hp engine The twin cylinder opposed piston engine has two pistons in each cylinder with the combustion chamber formed between the crowns of the pistons. It eliminates the need for a cylinder head, camshaft and associated valves and has in effect two half length crankshafts linked by a gear train driving a centrally mounted propellor. The cylinders are ported at each end with one ring of ports opened by the air piston supplying the fresh air charge, and the other opened by the exhaust piston and connected to the exhaust system.

The Centrion 1.7 is a 4-cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve in line diesel engine with common rail direct injection. It is turbo charged and liquid cooled, uses a wet sump oil system and an electronical control unit. The gear ratio between prop and engine is i = 1:1,69- Take off power (at 2300 rpm): 99 kW (135 hp)

Dieselis

Dieselis is using a 1500 Isuzu diesel engine to wich is added a 1.66 : 1 cog belt reduction drive. The engine itself (cast iron block) weighs 232 lbs instead of 132 lbs for a Rotax 912 or 165 lbs for Volkswagen. With accessories set on the engine, the weight up to 300 lbs. The engine is fitted with turbo and intercooler. Technical datas of the engine with turbo, but without intercooler, announce 67 hp @ 4600 rpm, and a maximum couple of 123 Nm between 2600 and 2800 rpm. The power curve is a diesel one, with a flat top : 63 hp are reached at 3600 rpm, only 4 hp are remaining for the last 1000 rpm. The intercooler, by cooling admission air, would increase power of nearly 10 %. economy 1.3 gph (6 litres/h  Redrive 700 hrs
