The laws of my empire are mostly local, but these are the laws that are universal:
Kill nothing except in self defense or for food. Anything killed for food must be class 20 or above.
Make no contact with any race or planet of a class between 20 and 10.
Do not destroy anything with a fixed orbit (ie. a planet or star), even if it is passing through the middle of a major trade route.
First Contact cannot be made until the race being contacted has reached level 10 civilization.
Planets cannot be colonized if there is life class 30 or lower.
Nothing foreign (ie. plants, animals, people or soil) may be brought to a planet with any sort of life or ecosystem without permission of the people living there, or if the class of life is above 20, without permission from the Queen of the Universe and the Cabinet.
