Marg and Dick
HOME
This is our original Saalsaa cottage.  It's been owned by the Whitburns for the last 52 years.  It is now Joel and Fran's bedroom.
Hi Jerry--We spoke with Joel and Fran this week and they told us about your new "cottage" and they gave us your web site to see the pictures.

Wow!  Some cottage!!  I think your foundation would hold the Mackinaw Bridge--but better a little more than a little light.  Only question:  Where will you put the carillon?  It should be great to here it over the lake every evening about sundown!

We think the new construction is great, but none will erase the memories of the old days with one room and the Kinoka's.  I'll not forget one night Marg and I came up alone.  We bought a 50# block of ice in Saxville.  Rather than carry it down the hill, I set it on the ground and gave it a kick.  Down the hill it went, as expected, but at the bottom it was going 100mph and went between the pump and the building.  Had it hit the building, it would have still be going 90mph when it came out the other side!  How times have changed.

I guess living in the past may be a sign of old age.  The picture is how we looked for our 50th anniversary.  Hope we can get up next summer to see you and the edifice in person.  Marg. & Dick

Can we really be old enough to remember hand pumps and iceboxes?  They don't look that old.
