There have been four Chronicles (over-reaching plotlines lasting many game sessions, and all relating to a central story) that link with the Maiden Newton setting for the Maiden Newton Masquerade Society. The first of these, The Sixth Extinction, was a werewolf game rather than a vampire game, but it had plot elements that related to the vampires of the current game, and served as a 'prelude' of sorts to the following three Chronicles. A year later, when the Society reconvened for a vampire game, we picked up the plot from where the werewolf game had left it, with the first vampire Chronicle, entitled Clash of the Titans. |

The Society then underwent a 'change of mangement' for the next Chronicle, The Road to Hell. This enabled the head Storyteller for the previous Chronicles to hand over the reins and take a back seat as a Player Character (or two, as it turned out), while simultaneously giving some of the other members of the Society a chance to give Storytelling a go. At the conclusion of this Chronicle, the management returned to its previous state, and the game continued directly onwards, in its present Chronicle, Dies Irae, which began in the middle of November 2002.
