Travel Information

Hello all and welcome to wedding website. If this is your first visit continue reading, if you just checking for updates, this is 3rd August 2004 update.

First of all let us tell you where we are getting hitched. We have chosen Ao Nang Bay (Railay)for reasons you can see in the other sections of this site. Basically the way to Ao Nang Bay is to fly to Bangkok, then take an internal flight to the city of Krabi in Southern Thailand and finally take the short trip from the city of Krabi to the beautiful Ao Nang Bay, which is about ten fifteen miles.

The prices seem to be rising so better get booking, of the bookings so far prices range from €750 - €950,including Krabi flight, and depending on how direct you want to get there, very cheap flights been directed through Irac but we don't advise it!!

Most of the bookings have been through Trailfinders Trailfinders (01-6777888), but please try to shop around. Currently the best priced flights are with Eva Airlines, an Asian airline which has been recommended with prices to Bangkok €620, China Airlines also coming in very reasonable at €680, but there are very few of these seats left from recent inquiries. The internal flight to Krabi ranges at about €100.

Most flights will fly from Dublin via Heathrow or Amsterdam to Bangkok. From there you need to travel the 1000 km to Krabi Province in South East Thailand. If you are planning a short trup then it is better to arrange your flights to and from Krabi at the time of booking your international flight as it will work out easier that way. Alternatively you can fly into Bangkok and organise the Krabi flight through a local operator in the city, but while this can sometimes work out cheaper, the seats are not always guaranteed, though there are two flights per day to Krabi.

Another option is to travel overland from Bangkok to Krabi. If you consider this, its probably better to go for the Air- Con buses with toilets as its quite a long journey and these decent buses leave from Bangkok’s Southern Terminal in the evening and travel over night. Of course you can also walk, but we'll see ya sometime in the next millenium!!

A final option is not to go through Bangkok. If you look at a map of South East Asia, you will see that Krabi is located in Southern Thailand. It is therefore very possible to fly from Ireland to Kuala Lumpa in Malaysia and travel overland through Northern Malaysia. We travelled through Malaysia a few years ago and can we had a brillant time, though in recent times there has been a little trouble on the border, so maybe a connecting flight might be the best option.

Keep us posted on how your flight details are working out, prices etc, get email address under contacts menu.

Updates to follow………..
