GBSA� (Gay, Bisexual & Straight Alliance) of the State University of West Georgia is for students and people in the surronding community. We provide support to those who need and even those who don't. We are involved with a lot of volunteer work and we are becoming more active on campus. We have created a new branch of our group just for those struggling to come out. We are currently sponsering a gay/lesbian film festival on campus and a National Coming Out day celebration for our campus. Everyone from the community, all ages and all types, are welcome to our meetings. We are always welcoming visitors so come on and visit us. Classic Bowling Center, Huffaker Road, Rome, is a lot of fun! We've been out there a number of times with large groups of gays folks, and a few times with just us. Never had any problems, always had fun!
If you are looking for something to do and you love animals,you can't go wrong by joining the Rome Humane Society. There are quite a few "family" members who are involved in one way or another supporting this organization. They have events just about every month, from Adopt-A-Thons to Pet Washes to Rummage Sales. The group meets once a month on Thursday nights. If you are an animal lover, and would like to meet others who are helping animals, you are welcome to join!
