Simply put: the Knights of this Order are those who give of Self to serve the Kingdom. Charitable works, monies donated, public relations, or the extreme expression: the giving of one's (entire) life for the glory and honour of the Realm. Such Knights are entitled to have the initials "OIM" after their name, to be called Sir or Dame (depending on gender, and in their regalia, may wear a pin with an mantle of ivory white, on their left breast.
