Alex Commented:I would just like to say that I just finished Zelda and oh man was it ever amazin, a little dissapointing in length but otherwise, damn was it fun...and I am sure that it has re-play value...
Kein Betreff Said:Zelda is the greatest game ever made. nothing on PC or on Console can reach a bit to zelda 64. Stunning (ok ffVII can do a bit)!!!
Ann Charron Raves: I have completed the game and I am completely and uterly impressed with every aspect of the game. Everthing in the game is huge and extensive and it is always a complete joy to play it. The cinimatics are pretty damn cool to and the bosses are just outstanding. This game renews my faith in the nintendo 64. It may take a while for a game of this calibure to be released but when it is it's all worth it. Zelda 64 the best game out there? You better damn believe it!!!!
Peter Portka Relates: Zelda The Ocarina Of Time in my mind is the best game ever created and will remain the greatest untill Zelda 2 comes out, which is highly unlikely. When the game came out and I went to the store to pick up my reserved copy it was the single greatest day in my life, until they said the shipment was not going to come in for another week or two. I was so pissed off that I didn't sleep for at least 4-6 days. But then the big day came and my wait was finally over. I started playing the game and it was very addicting. I even tried to fake being sick so i could stay home and play the game. Just some final thoughts-this game is a legacy and other games will be compared to this game, so if you own a n64 and dont have this game I feel sorry for you.
Joseph Dixon Proclaims: ...It was so wonderful. I especally loved when gannon came out and I got that "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" sensation that you just rarely get nowadays.. I love it when games aren't quite
predictable...
Josh Laments: I thought it was fun but I was a little bored with the repeated storyline. At times it seemed i was just playin a beefed up version of the old Zeldas. Don't get me wrong I'm glad i bought it and i recommend it to any one else but I wish they would have made a little more exciting story.
Anonymous Says: I dont reccomend posting this to anger the zelda fanatics but after taking a
month of my time to beat this great game, was upset about the ending..after
suffering through dungeons and finding all 20 hearts there really is no replay
value..the 50 skullutas have usefull prizes but for 2ce as much---100!!! all u
get is 200 ruppees..And after all your hard work to save hyrule, zelda wanted
u to forget about it..i think this is what the ending should have been...U beat
GANON..then he gives u a triforce piece...u now have 2 and zelda gives you
hers..u now have 3....and it showsit on ur quest status....and u can go around
hyrule and everyone calls u the hero of time and thanks you..the 6 sages
rebuilld a new hyrule castle and zelda moves back in....then you become the
King of hyrule and a wedding takes place...thats my kind of ending.
email me back of what u think about what i think
Joe Salvo Proclaims: This has to be the best game I have ever played. FF7 has a couple of things
on Zelda, but it cannot compete. The game makes incredible use of the N64's
power. The graphics can seem almost lifelike at times. You get a feel you
could never get from any game before. This also has to be one of the hardest
games I have ever played. It kept me immersed in the story for hours and
hours. This isn't a game, it's a REVOLUTION! All I can say is: Shigeru
Miyamoto, I salute you.
~~ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY MIYAMOTO!~~
~~HAIL MIYAMOTO!~~
~~HAIL MIYAMOTO!~~
Dan Says: I thought it was the best game ever. The storyline was great, the graphics were great even without FMV's. It has great replay value with all of those damn skulltulas and heart container pieces. Also
i think the ending was good enough... i just hope there is just some
kind of alternate ending or something if you do something different or
something like that...but i doubt it. All in all i thought it was
stupendous and deserves to be in everyones n64.
Chris (AT) House Comments: I was impressed by the game for a few weeks, but I finished it in no time
and now it is useless. I had hoped that a second quest would follow the
ending (like in the original Zelda) but no such luck. If anyone finds
out about a way to get the Triforce or any other quest that I may have
missed, let me know. I need something to do!
Anonymous (Didn't Give Name) Says: After playing Zelda 64, all I have to say is that it was one of the best games
I have ever played. Almost everything was perfect except for two aspects.
First of all, the ending, what was that, something like that actually
happening to someone can be quite depressing. And second of all, the repley
value isn't great. I believe there is a technique squaresoft used in another
RPG, Chrono Trigger. In this game, after beating it, you can save your stats
and start a new game based on that. Tweaking a few things and making a
derivative of that, such as getting to start a game before doing a specific
major thing like the tree stones, or before getting the megaton. Alternate
ending would also be wonderful.
Bob Sage Relates: My impressions comparing this version to the original (best) Zelda
Likes:
Easier to get money to buy things. You don't have to spend countless hours
"killing" crabs to get enough money to buy "potion"
Graphics are superb - especially the death scenes!
Dislikes:
Too many hints. I much prefer to figure out by trial and error how to
"kill" baddies. Also the damn fairy and owl keep appearing and force you to
go through dialog.
Too easy to get things you need when you need them. Low on hearts - bash a
few bushes and you get some, need bombs, magic potion, etc. they all appear
by convient bushes that grow back within seconds. Much better when you paid
for yor errors by having to go outside cave, etc. and buy or find what you
needed.
Not enough imagination in enemies weaknesses and methods of attack. In
Zelda 1, each new meanie had something unique that took some
experimentation to figure out and then some agility to master the new attack.
Overall - A SUPER GAME!
Rilcan Torlt Commends: I think that Zelda 64 was Pretty Great. Definately a replay. But, as all have
said, the ending was rough on the nerves. Everything should be happily ever
after. Or should. Some people commented that there probably won't be a sequal,
but that cannot be true. If Ganon is locked away, and there is no alternative
ending, like finding the triforce, then a sequel is inevitable. It has to
happen. Ganon practically quoted Arnold Shwarzanager (I think that's how ya
spell it) On "I'll be Back." Sequel, you bet, for the new console?....
Probably. But as for Zelda 64... Awesome. I give a hand to Nintendo for such a
great job, even with all the delays. Until the next one comes out, May The
Force Be With You.
Jeremy Wright Applauds: Zelda 64 just saved Nintendo 64... for all those gamers who just can't handle playing Mario 64 and that damned Banjo game all the time,
we finally have something to cling to. I admit, FF7 is a detailed game, it has swell graphics, and a nifty story line... but lets face it, the
game sucked. I spent more time listening to story crap then I did actually killing monsters... and only one ending with a game as
complex as that? You can't play a game like that twice, if you can even play it once ...wait, I'm suppose to be talking about Zelda... :)
...Zelda rules. They know what they were doing when they painted the cartridge gold. ;-) Thanks Miyamoto!
Scarlette Congradulates: I think that Zelda: Ocarina of time is the best game I've ever played. I
remember when I got my first Zelda game and I thought that it was the best
thing I'd ever seen. I hope that they keep on making Zelda games because
they are the gratest!
Grumpy Old Man Grumbles: Ok yeah I agree that mario shouldnt be in Zelda ok, But what the he-- are
they trying to do to the Zelda fans out there?! I don't get the ending! First
princess Zelda so rudely takes the Ocarina of time, AND then she stuffs
you back onto the past so that you are doomed to re live all that sh--
again!!! But thats just the beginning!! Also when you get stuffed back into
the past you friends: Saria, Darunia, princess Ruto, Rarau, Nabooru all
dissapear for all time because now they have to gaurd the triforce for all
time. And after all that you seal the door of time and all your cool items
go to he--!!! And I haven't told all yet!!! Then your only friend goes
away.....if you guessed Navi your right! She leaves you. And now your
homless because you cant go back into the forest without a fariy or you'll
turn into a monster. Also you found out your mom died long ago and left
you with the Deuku tree so you have no family to look foward to you the
only thing you have left for you is Malon. But rember in the past she
dosent know you to well so were all crapted out. Any thing else about the
game is great!!!
[email protected] Elates: I think The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme saved Nintendo64 from falling
down. It is probally my all time favorite. It was exciting at every turn. All
the Enimies are incredible. Miyamoto really did a superb job on this game. He
really brought out the true adventure in Zelda. If it wasn't for this game
then where would N64 be? I have a huge anger over the ending. I meen for all I
care at the current moment it looks pretty much to me that Nintendo screwed
America and they did a damn good job on it too...What is up with that ending?
I think he should retrive the Triforce like in every other Zelda game (
Besides the stupid CD-i game )! I think from now on if they are going to make
another Zelda game it should be a sequel. I mean it just gets boring how they
always just improve the game and they don't sequel it ( IT SUCKS! ) But to
tell you the truth Zelda is as Cartman would say, " KICK ASS "!
Tom Reccomends: If you stay away from those people who use the strategy guide and spend the
next 48 hours playing the game until they beat it (and cooincidentally love to
tell you the secrets that they didn't discover on their own), then this game
is immensely entertaining and worthwhile. Everything about it is top-notch.
To all Zelda players: Be a real man and STAY AWAY FROM THE STRATEGY GUIDE
unless you are totally and utterly stumped on something.
[email protected] Declares: Playing this game is a surreal experience. Simply unbelievable. Nothing out
there can even compare to the opportunity for one to immerse him or herself
within a virtual environment.
Norlene Andelin States: I have beaten the game and boy was it fun. The graphics were the best
i've ever witnessed in any game for any system. I was really surprised
when I went fishing for the first time... It was so life like! I sat
there for 2 hours just fishin' away not caring about saving Hyrule or
anything else. The deaths and the "introductions" of the meanies and
boss' are just outstanding... especially when you defeat Gannondorf and
blood spills from his throat. Just amazing. As for the ending ... it was
really disappointing and I think Link should have married one of the
sages. And I have the same feelings as Anonymous... you really should be
able to continue the game.... everyone was boasting about how long the
game was but i didn't find it long @ all i beat it in 5 days!
[email protected] Remembers: I may be only 15 but still i'm a veteran Legend of Zelda gamer since it game
out in 1989 or something like that but i've followed all games of Zelda and own 3
and i have to say that Zelda:Ocarina of Time is the best one by far of course
the ending did not be quite as much as people thought it would be but it's
still the BEST Zelda out there also what do you expect from the ending of the
First Zelda in the Zelda line since it is as follows.....Ocarina of Time, Link
to the Past, Link's Awakening, Zelda, and Zelda 2.
Kevin Jacobson Salutes: Since I first set my hands on a controller, with Legends of
Zelda: Ocarina of Time in my N64 console, I was in heaven. The game,
in my opinion, is the best video game I ever played, with all kinds of
aspects, stretegies, to puzzles, to RPG's, it's got everything!.
Although I still haven't beaten it, (hey, I just got it for
Christmas!) I'm almost positive that I will play it again, looking for
hidden aspects everywhere, and I'm sure there is more to find then
what I have seen so far. I have'nt really been a big Zelda fan in the
past, but then again, the only other Nintendo product I had was
Gameboy, and I now find myself turning to that for Zelda.
Nathan Belote Remembers: The Zelda series has the best video games in existence. When I can remember waking up on my birthday years ago and opening my first present. It was a gold copy of the original Zelda. I was amazed. I had heard about it from my friends, but actually realizing that my parents had pre-ordered a copy for me was astounding. Then I was a little kid. Now, although I have not my own copy of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, I believe that it is alone the best game for the N64. In the years to pass since I got my first taste of Zelda, many great games have appeared, but none can topple this great series. Although I have but one remaining Zelda game, Link's Awakening, this series will live on in my heart as the greatest game series of all time. Even if I myself do not own my original Zelda cartridge, I hope it brings the same happiness to another child who is interested in the game series. From one fan to another, I bid thee farewell and luck in the future!
[email protected] believes:
I would defintly have to say this game is really awesome, I have played the
first second and third and i don't think i played the 4 zelda but anyway, this
game is very good i would give everything a 10 for this game except for one
thing, THE OVERLAND THEME! Remember it from the first zelda? If they would
remix it and put it on the game for when you are walking around hyrule it
would be great...
Robert Points Out: While everybody else is talking about how great it is,
which should be undeniable, there is a couple things
that bothered me. Most of all is Navi. She REALLY
gets on my nerves. She never seems to shut up. I'll
be wearing my iron boots underwater and she'll keep
telling me the boots way a ton and maybe I could use
them at the bottom of a lake. Duh! Or she'll want
me to talk with her while I am racing the marathon
man or something like that. Even after I "finish"
the game, she still tells me every few minutes to
go save Zelda again. Second, there were times when
the Owl got on my nerves. I was trying to buy all
10 beans and get hearts so that requires leaving to
get more money and stuff. Not having reached Zora's
Domain yet, each time I tried to pass the owl
forced me to talk with him for awhile.
[email protected] Makes Known: All I'd like to say is that I'm no big Zelda expert, I have beaten the game,
and I have everything you can get (except the trifprce (if you can get the
triforce) I have no trouble admitting that it took me a ridiclious amount of
time to beat the game, but I beat it without any walkthroughs, or extra help of
any kind. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is truly the best game I have ever
played (out of N64, playstation, sega, sega genisis, gameboy, atari, atari
jaguar, and super NES) After I had finally beaten the game my mom was so sick
of it, that she went out and baught me three new games just so i would stop
playing Zelda. I was sooo stuck to the game that I beat it another four
times, (never deleting my origional game, just because I'm supersticious)
THIS GAME NEVER GETS OLD!!!! And I'm still discovering new things everytime I
play! Even if you haven't beaten the game yet, I'm sure this goes for any
loyal Zelda fan: you can never get enough of Zelda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zabunny Tells: This game is incredible. The color variety, incredible gameplay control,
and every other impressively complete things that this game has to offer
makes Zelda64 Zelda64. Well perfected sound and music affect the mood of
the game, and contribute nicely to the rich beauty and pure joy of
playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There is so much to do
after you beat the game, that keeps you playing, and you simply can't
stop. Yes, I have beaten the game 4 times, 3 without a guide, since I've
memorized them all pretty much (not to brag), but the overall fun,
excitement, and challenge of the game keeps you coming back for more.
The ending, well, I don't know how to comment, (trying not to spoil) it
did end with a real ending.
Robert Wrote: I have to say that this Zelda was a mistake, a waste of time. I would
rather spend 50 bucks on an old Nintendo and play the first Zelda.
I have been playing video games for a while, I have been playing Zelda
games for as long as I can remember. I have to admit that Link has become a
part of me. When I heard of a new Zelda game, I flipped! I waited and waited,
even subscribed to a magazine just for the purpose of keeping up with the
release dates.
I will admit that there were some things in the game that were cool.
Like the way that Link blinked, and raising the stakes during the final battle
by getting your sword knocked away, and of course the day and night changing.
Also, the game was way too easy. I don't wish to boast, but I beat the
game in a few days, without a strategy guide. The first Zelda must have taken
me 3 months to complete. Sure the Water Temple was difficult, worthy of a
headache, but that's it!
The developers should ashamed of themselves! The game might have been a
little bit more interesting if you at least saw the Triforce, but NO! This
game ruined the Tradition of Zelda games, and I personally think that this
game destroyed Zelda games to come in the future. I am sorry if I anger other
Zelda fanatics, I am sorry, but this is just my opinion.
[email protected] Comments:
I can remember the first time I played Zelda 64; the graphics and vastness of
the environments was incredible, and the gameplay transformation into 3D was
astounding. But it didn't take me more than two weeks to beat. I didn't use
a strategy guide or anything like that until I had finished the game. It was
too easy to get all twenty hearts and there were so many hints in the game
that I soon lost interest. I remember when I played Zelda for SNES and it
took me almost four months to beat. The enemies were much tougher, the hints
were few and far between, and you had a larger inventory. I recomend getting
this game to anyone, just don't use strategy guides.
Steve Heikkinen Expresses: I loved it from day one. At first, while I was at a friends, I found it's
controls rather confusing. Then, when I learned about Z-targeting, I found it
much easier. I beat it with the help of your walkthrough (only used it for the
damned Water Temple, but anyway). Thanks! I loved how huge and involved the
game is, and I know there are tons of secrets we have yet to discover. I think
it's only natural that the Triforce should be in Zelda 64. But I only want it
mainly for an alternate ending; one in which Link discovers the Triforce and
changes everything for good instead of evil. I'm hoping you can walk around
Hyrule in Link's future (a happy future caused by Link discovering the
Triforce instead of Ganon), and marry Zelda or Malon (I think Malon has more
purpose in the game than we realize).
[email protected] Announces: Hey, I just have to say first that I totally love this game Im not trying to
disrespect it in any way but I was sooooooo dissapointed when I found out that
Hyrule wasnt returned to normal. I mean I played this game like with no sleep. It was like I was that guy in that blockbuster comercial but I was like that
for 3 weeks. I nearly did every thing in the "somthing to laugh at " list. I
didnt come out of my room for 3 days. When I beat it I was like "thats it?!?"
I hade no life afterward all I could think about was zelda.Well the only thing
now is to look for secrets and I hope someday some lucky one stumble across
triforce.
Justing Davis Remarks: Is Zelda the bast game ever made? No, it isn't. Is it the bast game to
come out for ANY of the next-gen systems? yes, it is. I thought Zelda is
the new benchmark in Video Games, and every game after this will be
compared to it. No one beside miyamoto could have ever made a game like
this. It's HUGE!!! It is my second favorite of all time after Super
Metroid (i dunno why, i just liked it more) Now let me say this, all the
hype the game got left me a little disappointed. Magazines saying it's a
70-hour game?? I'm no game-playing prodigy but there's no way it took
that long! In conclusion, it is just as much of a work of art as a
game, and i will remember it forever, but the next time a zelda game is
being covered in magazines, I am staying far away from the preveiws!
[email protected] Reviews: I think Zelda: ocarina of time is a great game. I have complaints, of course,
but it really is under-appreciated. My #1 complaint is the music. It sucks.
There are a couple of cool tracks, like the hyrule field, (which is a slightly
modified version of the old-school zelda theme) and gerudo valley. The Owl
music... oh god.. that REALLY sucked.
i was regurgitating my lunch after hearing that. It is SO bad. #2 there needs
to be more interaction between link and other characters. For example, Link
hardly knows Zelda. No relationship occurs between them. No romance, no
nothing. Totally buisness oriented. Save the princess, see the ending.
Nothing. Also, it would be nice to be able to develop relationships with
characters of your choice, like, when Zelda asks you all those questions, only
more so. (I know id be shooting for Malon, who is basically Marin from Link's
Awakening. She's a real cutie!) #3 more fights. Link needs to take more damge
from hits, more enemies, some sort of place where unlimited sword combat
occurs, sword fight-enemies should come back when you re-enter a dungeon. My
fav enemy to fight is the "Dinalfos", the Deinonychus-Like monsters with
rapiers. It's fun to fight them because I, searching for a style for myself,
dont use a shield. (get eaten by a Like-Like and kill it, then get the shield
back.Just dont re-equip it.) i like the way you can get the fly threads (I
think that Link looks best with the blue tunic, master sword, and no shield w/
normal boots... but gold gauntlets look ok too.)#4 some sort of 4 player sword
fighting game would be Hellah fun. like choosing between the bad
guys(Lizalfos, stalfos, Dinalfos, Wolfos, Shadow link, ect.) and link with
different equipment, and have a 4 player rumble. Now that would be fun.
Overall, I think the game was too easy, the ending was ok.. could have been
better, but it was ok. I didnt like the way you couldnt play after you win and
save, but.. has anyone tried the trick from Zelda 1 and named their guy
"ZELDA"? It may give an extra hard mode. Id give it a try. It's really too bad
that the faeries were so damn fugly. They look like bleeding trolls with too
much makeup. This game has a LOT of ugly people in it. Like Impa, she's a
little too masculine, and the Gerudo have been made to look especially unusual
with their cruelly exxagerated features. i find the representation of middle-
eastern people offensive. Zelda was WAY too feminine. She'd squeak like a
mouse when you got hit, and used "pink-heart" power when she opens doors. Her
voice is HIGHER when she is older.. she should have a more mature voice, not
her helpless damsel voice. Hyrule field has a lot of wasted space. Several
places where there is just blank field and no purpouse for it's palcement.
they could have put another 3 dungeons in there. Geez. I REALLy hope Miyamoto-
san decides to develop another Zelda game.. anyone know if he is? I heard he
was finished with Zelda.. that scares the hell outta me. Zelda 64 is great,
but it cant be the last one... it better not be!
