Brings Joy, Gives Me Hope, Inspires Me, And Will Always Be There No Matter What...

The CuRe - My favorite band in the whole world!! Words cannot describe how much of an impact they have had on me, and much they mean to me! They are delicious, dreaming, amazing, and everything inbetween....

Cranes - Cranes have also had a huge impact on me. With girlie female vocals and Jim's flighty guitars, whats not to love?

Cocteau Twins - Cocteau Twins are also on my "elite few" list. Liz has the most amazing etherial vocals, and the music is to die for.

Bauhaus - Absolutely brilliant British band at the forefront of the "goth" movement. These guys were born to create music and put on a damn good show.

Tori Amos - Goddess...

Curve - Smooth, textured female vocals on top of swirling guitars and electro beats. I'm in love!

Hooverphonic - Absolutely fantastic!! Soaring female vocals, electro beats, beautifully crafted keyboards, etc.

Skinny Puppy - The original industrial pioneers!

Collide - Dreamy and very textured soundscape of amazing noise! The girls voice is so sexy and pretty.

Tones On Tail - A Daniel Ash project that emerged immediately after Bauhaus' completion. Dark, haunting, and completely innovative...

Siouxsie And The Banshees - The original "goth/punk" queen!

Love And Rockets - With all but one member of Bauhaus, whats not to adore? Daniel Ash is truly a musical genius!!

Depeche Mode - The kings of 80's electro pop. Depeche Mode have been an influence to so many bands over the years.

Echo And The Bunnymen - 80's British romantic rock band with catchy bass lines. Sometimes danceable...

Fiona Apple - Angry but beautiful, sullen, and extremely driven. This girl has the power to rouse such emotion and truth.

Halou - Semi-electronic, almost trip hopish female fronted dream sounds. Very mellow and building... They've planted themselves inside my skin...

Jack Off Jill - Jessicka is fucking great! Female rage with lots of colors and candy dolls, screaming and crying with lipstick smeared love.

Rachel's - Exquisite indie rock chamber music! Even Bach and Mozart would be impressed!

Unwound - Dynamic and intricately woven guitar, bass, and drums. Spanning the horizons from dreamy to heavy without becoming stale or predictable.

Bel Canto - Wierdly interesting fusion of world music and etherial. Diverse and always interesting. Anneli has one of the most bizarre and beautiful voices ever!

Tear Garden - Offshot project of cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy) and Edward Kaspel (Legendary Pink Dots).

Bjork - Innovative Icelandic tart!

Muse - One of the most moody, dramatic rock bands of today. Muse is so great!

Arovane - Theee best ambient, drum and bass-ish electro project ever! Mostly creepy and atmospheric, but never any less than fascinating.

Mogwai - Mostly instrumental, textured, guitar driven, mellow, emotional landscape of sounds.

Hole - Ranging from trashy to beautiful... Courtney is the ultimate bitch queen!

Delerium - Emotional soundscape of soaring girls and electro beats.

Garbage - Lush pop at its finest!! Shirley is the ultimate vixen!

The Gathering - I became obsessed upon the first listen to them. They play sort of indieish, experimental, dreamy, pretty stuff. I love it!!

Madonna - My FIRST hardcore musical obsession at the ripe old age of 4 (1985)!! Madonna will always be ultimate pop chameleon!

Peter Murphy - Lead singer from Bauhaus. His solo stuff is romantic and flighty. He's also a born performer!

Tristeza - Meaning "sad" in Spanish, Tristeza totally lives up to its name. Instrumental, mellow, guitar based amazement!

Placebo - The best damned girlie boy music ever!

Ani Difranco - Extremely driven girl folk powerhouse.

Explosions In The Sky - Theee best instrumental rock band ever! They never fail to amaze me with their exquisite range of power and beauty!

Nine Inch Nails - Trent is a one man wonder band!

A Perfect Circle - Maynard's more floaty side. I may even like it more than Tool. Three libras!!

Switchblade Symphony - If Siouxsie had a love child, it would probably sound much like Switchblade Symphony. Smooth balance of guitar, 80's synth, spooky vocals, and clever lyrics. I love them!

Pinback - Indie rock at its finest. Loro is my beautiful "morning song".

Download - Former member of Skinny Puppy and Tear Garden, cEvin Key, in his own instrumental, drum and bass-ish project.

cEvin Key - His "solo" instrumental, drum and bass-ish project, under his own name.

Sigur Ros - Its like floating through space to the sounds of the lead singer's amazing croon, mixed with beautifully textured melodies.

Slowdive - Dreamy and etherial. This band is the essence of "Shoegaze". Pleasant, swirling mix of guitars, beautiful voices, and textures that are never static or predictable.

My Bloody Valentine - Warped and muffled instrumentation with heavily buried, detached, and blurry vocals. Numbingly loud and dreamlike, Loveless is their flight!!

X Mal Deutschland - Early goth/romantic type female floaty band. Sung mostly in german, they are very mysterious to me... The singer is very Siouxsie and Liz reminiscent. Excellent Listening. Manchmal!

Wolfsheim - The sound very much like a darker version of Depeche Mode to me...

Sophya - Lush, Hypnotic, and Beautiful are all words I would use to describe Sophya. The female singer has such an incredible voice, and the textured layers are just fabulous! Highly recommended for those Xymox, Love Spirals Downwards, Cocteau Twins, and Xmal Deutschland fans.

The Birthday Massacre - Kind of "gothy/dreamy" synth pop. I would compare them to a girl "Faint" with pretty bits thrown in. This band is terrific!!

The Emerald Down - Beautiful, etherial, Slowdive type band. Completely amazing!

Diva Destruction - Female fronted, floaty and etherial at times, and just as abrasive and thought provoking at others...

Autechre - Highly emotive electronic music, with beautiful textures and subtle melodies.

Incubus - Unlike many other current rock bands, the longer they carry on, the better they get. Honest and very emotional, these guys rock.

Portishead - Mellow, chill, trip hop-ish Euro band.

Rasputina Antique baby doll cello rock! Melora is a force to be reckoned with.

Joy Division - Tragically short lived and highly influential. Ian Curtis's brooding, and sometimes eerie vocal stylings intwined with dynamicly emotive bass lines and sometimes gritty guitars.

New Order - Danceable offshot of Joy Division after Ian's suicide.

Insides - User friendly electronics, pleasant female vocals, and fuzzy overlapping sounds. Mysterious band, with very limited releases.

Radiohead - Interesting balance of guitar rock, electronic beats and rhythms, and moody boy vocals. This band has taken quite a positive turn since their first release. I think they just keep getting better with time.

Tapping The Vein - Lush electronics, powerful yet pretty girl vocals, and heavy guitars. Good stuff!

Marilyn Manson - I'm guilty... I like Manson. This band definitely has more depth than meets the eye.

OhGr - Former lead man from Skinny Puppy breaks out with this new project. They seem to be getting better as they go along. They are amazing live! It was a dream come true!!

Kate Bush - Artsy poetic piano goddess. She is definitely the godmother of Tori Amos. I can see so much influence in her, but yet they are both still so different.

Kent - Beautiful dreamy gorgeous music!! Reminds me of a mix between Muse, Sigur Ros, and some Radiohead. Isola is such a fantastic masterpiece!!

The Faint - Fun and always interesting new indie/synth. I can even see hints of disco and goth. Strange combinations, but such a great band.

The Rapture - Also part of the new-school, indie New Wave movement. Good stuff.

Swarf - Infectious darkwave that can go from dreamy to danceable in a second. My favorite part of their sound is Liz's lush vocals. Good stuff!

The Mercury Program - Another gorgeous indie instrumental band. They have great guitars, bass, and drums and use lots of really pretty music-box type sounds.

Fockewolf - A project by Severina, a founding member of Diva Destruction. Her dreamy, sexy vocals are to die for, and they are in perfect unison with the rest of the floaty mysterious synth music.

The Start - Punky but sleek female vocals with 80s sounding synths, guitars, bass, drums, etc. This band rocks!

Tristesse De La Lune - Unfortunately, I could not find a single link for this one... This is a project from former memberts of Blutengel, but far better in my opinion. Its dreamy, dark, sexy, enchanting girl music...

The Azoic - They are an electronic dance / industrial EBM band with pretty female vocals. Their sound is addicting!

Frontline Assembly - This this the original band from the masters of Delerium. Although this project is more industrial based, its still very floaty at times.

The Church - Starfish is one of the best records ever made! So dreamy in all its 80s glory!

Gang Of Four - Although they started sucking when the mid 80s hit, their first few releases have made a huge impact in music. Both "Solid Gold" and "Entertainment" completely rock. They remind me of a lighter Bauhaus and Duran Duran sort of mix. Its weird.

Song Of Zarathustra - Hardcore at its finest. Not that I'm super huge on hardcore, but I've heard enough to know that this band has something that no other band has. They are what I would call evil sounding metal/punk screaming music.

Chemical Brothers - Catchy beats, swooping keyboard tricks, and clever samples.

Duran Duran - This band is the heart of 80's pop. They started as a funky new-wave act and gradually transformed into a high-tech pop band with loads of commercial appeal.

Psychedelic Furs - This is a terrific band of the 80s/New Wave era. I can see where they've even had an influence on bands of today (like Interpol). They are great!

Aphex Twin - This man is a total wierdo!! But he's inspired some great "out of mind" evenings.

U2 - Also 80s/New Wave giants. Good stuff.

Squarepusher - Abstract beats over textures keyboards. "Beep Street" is thee best!!

The Smiths - 80s guitar pop fronted by the ultimate bitchy queer, Morrissey.

Banco De Gaia - Hypnotic stream of world beat and ambient techno. Strangely interesting.

Sasha - Melding of electro and ambient sounds and sweeping melody. The songs build to synthesized ecstasy. Trance at its finest.

Boards Of Canada - Scottish electro-instrumental duo. Layers of samples, textures, melodies, etc.

The Pixies - This is another fun band. Something that I used to pop in to cheer up for some reason.

Creatures - This is the side project of Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie from Siouxsie and the Banshees... They make a good team!

Metric - If Love and Rockets divided in two sometime in the early 90s, this is what their other band would have ended up doing, in my opinion.

Ayria - Dark, floaty club music with industrial roots and gorgeous female vocals.

Seabound - Stunning music of the darkwave/synthpop sort. They remind me of a mix between Depeche Mode and Wolfsheim.

Bethany Curve - Dreamy, layered shoegaze.

Goldfrapp - Funloving, ass-smacking British pop with female vocals.

Scarling - This is the current band of the amazing Jessicka, from Jack off Jill. While I have been a fan since their inception in 2001, I must say they are getting better with time. Their new album "So Long Scarecrow" is SOOOOOO amazing!!!

Dali's Car - This is what Peter Murphy did right after Bauhaus. Its very quirky and weird, but I love it!
