INTERTOUR ASSISTANCE SERVICE (IAS)
Intertour provides access to a world-wide network of alarm-centre, manned by multilingual professional coordinators who, at any hour throughout the year, deal with travel related matters such as:

PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVER
Intertour covers you for death as well as partial or total disablement, occurred within six months from the date of the accident as a direct result of bodily injury. In case of loss of life, the full sum insured becomes payable (except for the death benefit for children under 16 years of age which is US$13,000).(For Short Tours, the death benefit for children under 16 and person over 70 years of age which is US$6,250)
 
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT FOR COMMON CARRIER
Should an accident occur to you while on board a public conveyance that is licensed to carry passengers, an additional benefits as specified is payable under the Personal Accident Section of this insurance.

MEDICAL EXPENSES
The Coverage includes medical treatment by a qualified medical practitioner for sickness contracted during the covered period. For the continuation of medical treatment upto 3 months following your return to your country, the sub-limit is upto US$18,750. The Company's liability under this section shall not exceed the Maximum Benefit specified in the benefits table. The Insured person bears the first US$30 of each and every claim.
 
OVERSEAS HOSPITAL CASH BENEFITS
In the event that you are admitted to a hospital (licensed for surgery) abroad as an in-patient due to accidental bodily injury or sickness, Winterthur will pay you a benefit of US$35 for every complete day as an additional payment to any reimbursement or entitlement under the Medical Expenses section of this insurance, subject to the benefit limit for this section stated in the benefits table.

BAGGAGE AND PERSONAL EFFECTS
Loss of or damage to baggage taken, sent in advance or purchased on the trip (including clothing and personal effects worn or carried on the person, in trunks, suitcases and like receptacles), occurring during the Period of Insurance and owned by you.
The Maximum liability under this section are stated in the benefits table. Sub-limit for any one article, pair, set or collection is US$250 and that for all items of clothing or sports equipment is US$625. An excess of US$30 applies equally.
 
BAGGAGE DELAY
Intertour covers you against baggage delayed for longer than 12 hours so that you may purchase essential items up to the sum insured as stated in the benefits table.
(This part is not applicable when an insured person already reach home or the final destination.)

PERSONAL MONEY
Intertour covers you against loss of personal money (cash, bank or currency notes, cheques, travellers cheques, travel tickets or credit vouchers) due to burglary or robbery, up to the Maximum Benefit for each person as specified in the benefits table. The Insured Person shall report to the police within 24 hours and bears the first US$60 of each and every claim.
 
TRIP CURTAILMENT
If you should have to cut short your trip due to events beyond your control (e.g. sudden illness or death of close relative). Intertour would cover you for the normal airfare for return to the country of origin. The deductible is US$30.
 
TRIP CANCELLATION
You may expect the reimbursement of cancellation charges, deposits, penalties, document fees, etc. if your trip should have to be cancelled due to events beyond your control (e.g. sudden death or disablement of a close relative). The deductible is US$30.
 
TRIP DELAY
To compensate you for the inconvenience of a delayed departure due to circumstances entirely beyond your control like strike, adverse weather conditions or mechanical breakdown etc., you may claim up to US$30 for every period of 12 hours up to a total of US$125. Alternatively if a delay of 12 hours on your outward journey occurs, you may cancel the trip and will be reimbursed for irrecoverable deposits and any amounts for which you are legally responsible upto the benefit limit for this section stated in the benefits table.

PERSONAL LIABILITY
Intertour provides you with an indemnity in respect of legal liability for accidental injury to third parties or accidental loss of or damage to their property with a maximum limit as specified in the benefits table. However, such indemnity shall not apply in respect of judgements which are not in the first instance delivered by or obtained from a court of competent jurisdiction.
 
WINTERSPORTS/TREKKING/SCUBA DIVING EXTENSION
Trekking/Scuba Diving/Bungee Jumping/Winter Sports including Ski-Jumping & Ski-Bob Racing are covered under this insurance without any additional premium charged. The benefits shall be surgical and mechanical appliances, helicopter/air ambulance services and other medically necessary expenses involved in the treatment and return to the departure point of the Insured Person. Specified exclusions under trekking cover shall be the use of ropes or pitons and other mechanical aids for climbing or mountaineering. The altitude limit for trekking cover shall be 17,000 feet above sea-level and no benefits shall apply in relation to events and occurrences that occur above such altitude. The limit for scuba diving is 100 feet below sea-level and no benefit shall apply in relation to events and occurrences that occur below such depth.
 
MAIN LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
   
1 Age Limit: Children under 60 days and persons have reached the age of 76 cannot be insured. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
2 The period of each journey is limited to 180 days only.
3 In respect of delay arising from causes outside the control of the Insured Person, the Duration of Cover will be extended for a maximum of 10 Days from the expiry date as declared.
4 Uninsured Events: War and similar acts, nuclear hazards.
5 Uninsured Activities: Engagement in sports or games for a professional club, racing other than foot racing, riding or driving in any kind of race or practicing therefor, motorcycling (unless having a valid Driving License), motor rallies and competitions, mountaineering, necessitating the use of ropes, hang gliding, parachuting, travelling in, entering or descending from any aircraft other than a licensed aircraft operated by a recognized airline in which the insured person is travelling as a fare-paying passenger.
6 Personal accident and sickness: intoxication, drug abuse; pregnancy, childbirth or miscarriage; self-inflicted injury or illness, venereal disease, AIDS and AIDS related disease; unreasonable care and attention, non-essential surgery or treatment, private room unless medically indicated, pre-existing medical conditions, travel for the purpose of medical treatment.
7 Baggage: Delay, confiscation or detention by authorities, unattended baggage loss/damage and all losses not reported to the police/authorities within 24 hours; normal tear and wear; fragile items.
8 Curtailment and Cancellation: Tour operators and airlines are to be given immediate notice of any changes.
9 Delay: Late arrival of insured at place of departure; any delays existing at the time of application for Intertour.
10 Liability: Use and hire of aircraft, watercraft and vehicles; property in custody; professional and contractual liability; injury to members of own family.
11 Beneficiary in case of death is the Insured Person's next of kin or estate according to the laws of your country.
12 Hong Kong Jurisdiction applies.
13 No refund of premium will be made once the insurance is issued.
