Brief History
Ascians are a race that have no shadow. They are original inhabitants of Mythus, who greatly resisted the human race when they fell onto Mythus. Summoning the Fallen Lord Zodo, the Ascians waged a long and terrible war against the humans, though eventually beaten by Guillotine, founder of Asteria. For their crimes, the Ascians were reportedly ripped from their physical being, being forced to live through sheer mental illusion.
Positives/Negatives
Their lack of physical presence gives them an advantage that no conventional physical weapon can harm them. Only weapons empowered by a space or time rune, heavily enchanted weapons, and energy attacks whether from runes or magic can inflict damage. The disadvantages of having no physical mass is that they aren�t really able to affect physical things or have physical objects. All their clothing, armor, weapons, and other accessories must be enchanted with a time or space rune which really increases the cost. Also to inflict damage or affect any other physical object they must spend 10 minutes (1 round) of concentration and do so using their mind to briefly enter the physical world, which takes a toll on their endurance (- 2 from endurance per such action). Or they must rely on rune or magic skills.
Reproduction
Ascians come in two genders, male or female, and breed by combining energies only with an other Ascian of the opposite gender. Ascians do not have any reproductive organs to dictate gender. Instead their gender is dictated through energy patterns. An Ascian with male energy patterns is a male and an Ascian with female energy patterns is a female. Ascians can choose the gender of their offspring by deciding which energy pattern to give their child when formed. There is no pregnancy period for Ascians. Instead when the couple decides to have a child they go into seclusion and then enter into a completely ethereal state and combine their energies. This process takes 2 weeks, after which the child is born and is given a name and gender.
Appearance
Ascians are slightly shorter than humans. They have ears that are 2� long, pale and slender faces and pointed noses. Ascians have long hair around the crown of their head, yet adult Ascians are bald on the top of their head. Ascian eyes are very cat-like in appearance and are gray. Ascian hair color is typically gray or white for adults, and blonde for children.
Living Habitat
Ascians generally seclude themselves from the outside world, choosing to live in mountain ravines, caves, or in small shacks atop steep mountain peeks.
Behavioral
Ascians do not get along with other races very well. They suffer from forms of xenophobia and tend to believe that other races are out to get them.
Food & Sleeping Requirements
Ascians, being beings of energy, do not need food or water. Instead they require energy to live. This energy can be produced by any small action, as long as they absorb at least 5 units of it a day. They also must sleep a full nights cycle, or will give way to fatigue.
