7- Hygiene and health

I don’t know what you’ve heard, but never ever put bog roll down the loo. Unless that is if you’re in someone else’ house. Or if you’re really bored. The toilet will block, and you will find your filth all over the floor within minutes.

Oh yeah, you probably already know this, but don’t drink tap water.

Just because you’re going to be farting a lot, doesn’t excuse stench. The showers are cold and horrible over here, but I personally need at least one shower every day cos’ it is so fucking hot.

While we are on the subject, take care with the sun. For my first three weeks, I was proper sunburnt. I just wanted to tan, and I didn’t give a shit if I went a bid red for a couple of days. You’ve got to realize that you are not going to Lanzarote with your mates for a couple of weeks. You are going right on the fucking equator, and you’ve got a load of time to get a tan. Please guys do watch out with sun cream on your shoulders (yes mother).

If you need stitches or something, try to go to the doctor at one of your schools, cos it’s free. I visited the Isabel de Godin medic more times than I can remember for various ailments, she is a fucking legend. She even made sure I got a cool scar above my eye when I needed stitches there. She also gave me some cream so that I can get rid of the scatty scar on my foot (more stitches for her).
