Subject: Missing German Shepherd/Rottweiller
Message:
Mack is a two year old male mixed German Shepherd/Rottweiller. Last seen October 26, 1999 at the Double S Truck Stop in Richer, Manitoba. Suspect that Mack was abducted by a truck driver. He may turn up at another truck stop. Please help find our friend.
Update:
Have received some more information about our dog Mack. We have had two
confirmed sightings of Mack at the Calgary Road King in Calgary on
November 2, 1999. He was seen getting out of a blue international
truck with gold pin striping.
Update:
Great news.
Mack has been returned to us safe and sound. He was spotted by a truck
driver in Chilliwack, B.C. He was in a residential section of the city
- chained in a back yard. (The back yard of the truck driver who stole
him). We picked Mack up Saturday morning in Headingly, Manitoba. I
would like to thank you for your wonderful site and the encouragement to
keep looking. I wish that all those other pet lovers have the same
happy ending that we have had. You were right in not giving up hope. I
have two very happy little girls and one thrilled dog.
I would like to thank you for all your assistance and the help I
received from the Humane Society's, and all those truck drivers and
truck stops who posted our flyers. The overwhelming support we received
in our search for Mack was unbelievable.
Thank You Again,
Debbie, Art, Chelsea, Meghan and Mack Stanley

Subject: Missing Female Cat
Message:
Zoe is a beautiful black and white female cat. She is mostly black, with white paws, chest and nose. She has a black dot on her nose, like a beauty mark. She is only 2 years old, she is short haired and slender. She's a little older than in this picture, but the markings are the same.
Zoe was last seen on Friday, November 5, 1999. She lives near #2 Road and Blundell.
Please help me find Zoe. I am heartbroken.
Update:
Dear Ben,
Thank you for posting Zoe's listing, your site gave me great hope of
bringing her home.
You are doing a great thing for people in such a terrible spot. I have
never known such sadness
as when I thought I might never see her again.
My mother and I spent many hours on the streets, calling and praying for
Zoe to hear us.
I could not eat, or sleep. For days, I cried constantly. It was the worst
weekend of my life.
At 3 o'clock in the morning on Monday, I heard a noise at my window. I
leaped out of bed,
and to the window. When I saw those big green eyes looking up, I audibly
cried out.
Zoe was home!!! She had somehow found her way home! As I type this, she
is curled up
beside the printer. I will tell you one thing for sure, Zoe is now a
permanent indoor cat!
Keep up the great service you are doing, the world needs all the good
people it can get.
Once again, thanks,
-Cheryl

Lost August 24, 1999 in Millcreek Area of Edmonton. Smudge is an all-black
shorthaired spayed female cat with green eyes and a tatoo in her left ear. She had a litter of
kittens before we took her in and she's got loose skin on her tummy where her figure never
recovered. She's excitable and wags her tail when she's wound up. She investigates inside
vehicles and may have gone for a ride the day she went missing!
Update:
I recently posted a notice about my lost black cat, Smudge, who'd been gone
a week. I'm delighted to tell you that she's back! I have no idea where she
was - probably a neighbour's shed because she was clean and dry, albeit thin.

Sometime during the night of Saturday, June 12, 1999, my beloved cat Jasmine fell out of my 2nd storey apt. building window. She must have jumped onto the screen and knocked it (and herself) out the window.
I found the screen lying on the ground outside my apt. the next day, but no Jasmine.
Jasmine is a 1 1/2 yr-old Tortie-Point Himalayan with big blue eyes. She's female and spayed. I have attached her picture. Unfortunately, I had her shaved for the summer a little while ago, so she doesn't look the same as in the picture - she only has a furry face, tail, legs, and feet right now. I and my family search the neighbourhood every day, have placed photos up everywhere we can, have placed ads in our 2 local newspapers, and even knocked on doors, but no one has seen her. I offer a REWARD for her safe return.
I live in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She was lost around Mill and Russell Streets, in the west end of Windsor. I love and miss her so much - I can't stop crying. I pray every day that she returns to me safely.
If you can help find Jasmine by adding her to your Lost Pets In Canada network, I'd really appreciate it. A larger picture of Jasmine (the same one as attached, but larger) can be found at /homestead/petsburgh/Haven/1175/lost.html. Other pictures of Jasmine can be found at /homestead/petsburgh/Haven/1175/jasmine.html.
If you need any further information about Jasmine, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Thank you so much for your help.
Praying and crying,
Liz Rutherford.
Update:
Hi, Ben!
I found my beloved Jasmine tonight!
I found her next door in the house's next door crawlspace! It took a while
to get her, but I did, and now she's back safe & warm in my arms! I'm
crying for joy!
Thank you for all your warm words of comfort, hope, and encouragement - I
really appreciated it and will not forget it. Thank you for featuring her
on your web page - you can now remove it or put a message that she's been
found!
Thank you again, from Liz, Chipit, Chocolate, AND Jasmine! :) =^..^=

22 January 1999: Female Beagle, color tan and rust. She is wearing a collar
with the following information: 06094 HOUSON TX PH: 713-238-2170. Her eyes
are "red," ears and tail are not docked. About knee height. Gets along with
childern and other dogs. If you have any information please contact Tracey

Update:
My story has a happy ending. Because the dog -Mandy- had a collar with an
identification tag I was able to contact the City of Houston, who in turn
contacted the owners of the dog. The owners were very relieved to find their pet, but due
to circumstances and distance between my home and theirs they were unable to
find a way home for the dog. Monies to fly the dog home were just not available.
Upon viewing and "surfing" the net a kind gentlemen-Mike Terrell- saw my add
and contacted me to see if the dog had been found and he too was relieved, but a
ittle upset with the details surrounding the situation. The gentlemen contacted
fellow workers who were generous enough to collect money for the dog to be
transported from New Brunswick, Canada to Houston, TX. I made arrangements with our local air
line (whom were very, very helpfull and went beyond their call for duty) to arrange the
flight.
Mandy has had ups and downs in the past 4 weeks, but I hear she is home and
happy to be with the little 7 year old boy who missed her so much...
Thank you for taking the time and the energy needed to operate such a
wonderful organization as yours. Without a doubt your web site, and the countless
people involved brought Mandy home.

Message:
My Australian Shepherd Aussie went missing in Abbotsford, B.C. on Saturday
October 25,1998 at sometime past 10 pm. His name is "Aussie". He is
wearing no collar, but is tattooed on his inner right leg. He is an intact
male, two years old, 21 inches at the shoulder, about 50 lbs- medium sized
dog. He is mainly Black on the body, has a white front and a white blaze
on his neck and tan muzzle and feet. He has no tail.
He was frightened by some early fireworks that were set off near my
parent's place and he escaped out of the fenced yard. We are from another
town, so he is wandering in unfamiliar territory.
My website has a collection of photos of Aussie- or you can see the poster photo.
Thank you!
UPDATE:
I am thrilled to say that Aussie has been FOUND!!!!!
My husband David was driving the streets in Abbotsford at 11 o'clock at
night with my brother Elliot. They were focussed in on the area where we
had received some calls of sightings on Friday- these were the first clues
we had that he was still alive. We talked to two teenagers from Yale high
school who had seen him and then another lady who had also seen him. The
area was HOT! We bought two for one pizza and planned an all night search-
new flashlights from Costco and everything. We were going to do shifts.
A wonderful lady named Donna Toews had driven out to Abbotsford from
Delta to help with the search. She came armed with a stack of new posters
to put up.
Just as we were saying goodbye to her, the phone call came from David- my
dad answered and called out those wonderful words- "They've got Aussie!" I
couldn't even breathe I was so emotional! Tears all around of relief and
joy.
Aussie had been in a residential area quite a ways from where he left-
we hadn't even checked that area because it was "too far". There were some
very big four lane roads that he had to cross to get there. He was found
near a small park between some houses- on a dead end cul-de-sac. David
called him and he came to the truck, smelled the pizza, jumped in and ate
the whole thing- he was ravenous!
So, he is a little skinnier than before, has a big mat on his neck from
burrs, but he is doing very well considering he was a week on his own. No
injuries thank goodness! For a dog from the mountains with not too much
traffic experience, I am amazed he survived. He is one smart Aussie!
I keep having little thrills of elation- replacing the depression of
last week. I am still pinching myself to see if it is a dream. (I did
have a very vivid dream the night before of finding him and having him in
my hands- I was sad when I woke up and found it wasn't true- but it turned
out to be a forshadowing of what was to come!)
Well, I will be on cloud ten for a while- forget about cloud nine! I
have a second chance with my puppyman- Aus paws!
Thank you to everyone who helped and looked and gave me support through
that awful week. I really appreciated everything and was amazed at the
kindness of perfect strangers. It really makes you feel so good about
people!

and the owner came along a put a board against the door so it couldn't open. The strange thing
is, is that my cat has the loudest cry, when he wants to, and we were sure that if he had been
stuck in there we would have heard him at night. Well, when he was found he suprisingly wasn't
hungry or thirsty. And he definately didn't lose any weight. All's well that ends well, I guess.

27, 1998. I appreciate all of your effort and help in finding Tia, it will
not be forgotten. I assure you Tia has never been more pampered in her

Message:
Dog; appears to be Rottweiler cross.
Found in our fenced backyard on Saturday April 17th. Appears to have been abandoned. Very friendly with people. Un-neutered male, approximately 1-3 years old. Was wearing a black nylon choke-type collar with no tags. No tattoo. Will hold on to him for one week, at which time will take him to the Burnaby SPCA.
UPDATE: We still aren't sure how he got into our enclosed yard, but at any rate his owners (a single mom and her 8 year old son) were overjoyed to hear from the SPCA that someone was taking care of "Doug" (the dog LOL) for them, and picked him up immediatly. It was a happy and tearful reunion for the little boy.
