Roy Harper His first album, THE SOPHISTICATED BEGGAR, was released in 1966. By the end of the 60s, Roy Harper was established as a cult figure on the underground music scene and was to be seen performing regularly at free concerts in Hyde Park. Peter Jenner, the manager of Pink Floyd, signed him to EMI's Harvest label on a long-term contract and became his producer. Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks The legendary Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, with the Lickettes (the two female vocalists), took off. They developed a national following, releasing five records and appearing on the Johnny Carson, Dick Cavett, and Flip Wilson TV shows. |
