Kids Walk for Homeless Kids

For the third year in a row, several of the children from SCC will be participating in the Kids Walk for Homeless Kids on Saturday, May 19. There are now nearly 80,000 homeless children just in the state of Illinois, and over 21,000 in Chicago. Abut 45% of the people who become homeless are children and their families. This is the fastest growing group among the homeless population. In Chicago, one quarter of all homeless people become homeless before their 13th birthday.
Everyone wants to do something to end homelessness. But with such a puzzling problem, it can be hard to know where to start. On behalf of all of the children participating in this event and all of the children who are homeless, I ask that each of you please consider taking part in this event that directly benefits homeless children and their families, by sponsoring our team of walkers.For more information on this event check out their web site at www.kidswalk.org.
