Summer Schedule
Finding it hard to deal with the kids? They are getting bored already and getting into trouble. They watch television all day or play video games. They don't even look at books or the sun light.
I remember last summer all too well. That is why I came up with a flexible schedule of things for them to do. I can work my cleaning around it and keep them busy most of the time. I find my kids checking the schedule to see what we do next. Here is the schedule I came up with.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are the same as the left column below, Wednesday is in the middle, and Sunday to the right.

Outside play can be roller blading, bike riding, a walk, sports (ex. soccer, baseball), slip and slide, pool (kiddy or larger), sand box play, yard work, gardening, a park or anything you can think of that your family likes to do outside. Reading for us is a half hour independant reading for older children with mom reading small books to younger non readers and then a half hour mom reading to everyone.
Activity time could be coloring, baking, projects (ex. father's day gifts, 4th of July), board games,  puzzles, learning anything new that is hands on, make paper airplanes and have a contest or let your imagination go wild.
Playtime can be playing with blocks, lincoln logs, legos, dress up, cars and tracks, dolls, barbies, kitchen or shopping, army guys, simon says, duck duck goose, or play dough.
Family Home Evening is usually in the evening, but my kids are too wound up by then so ours is in the morning. It is a time to teach a "Scripture Lesson", sing some songs, pray, and have a game as a family. We have a special treat after dinner. If we did FHE in the evening the treat would come after it was complete.
I do my chore cards in the morning during free-time and t.v. time.
