Dragons Make PISA History Tonight
Loss Creates First EVER 3-way Deadlock (3/7)

The Dragons made PISA history tonight with their loss to Runnin on E. It created the first ever 3-way tie in rink history (at least since the tie break change to include head-to-head matchups).

Since it was the first time ever rink officials debated in a sealed office for many hours before determining the order of finish for the Dragons, Goodfellas and Runnin on E, all with identical 6-6 records.

What rink officials determined was this, Runnin on E by virtue of their 3-1 record vs the other two teams will finish in 4th place, and (this was where rink officials debated long and hard) Goodfellas by virtue of their 2-2 record would finish in 5th place and the Dragons by virtue of their (deceptive record) 1-3 finish vs the others that they would finish in 6th.

Rink officials when cornered after their decision were quoted as saying "this order of finish allows us to keep the head-to-head option the primary tie-break, if Dragons and Goodfellas had identical 2-2 records the tie-break would have gone to Dragons by vitue of more goals scored".

This decision gives the Dragons a game next friday (3/14) @ 8PM vs third place finisher Whalers.

Dragons Fall in Finale
Lose 2-1 to R.O.E. (3/7)

The Dragons lost 2-1 tonight to Runnin on E to close out the regular season. With this loss the Dragons finish in 6th position (more to follow).

Scoring the lone goal was Joe Morrissey from Ray Glowicki in the third period. The Dragons just could not seem to finish tonight where they have been able to most of this season.

This loss places the Dragons in the 8PM game next friday (3/14) against the Whalers (5-3 losers tonight to the Canadiens).

Dragons Struggle But Prevail
Come Away with 5-3 W (2/28)

With the playoffs looming and all the teams jockeying for position, the Dragons assured themselves of a playoff spot tonight with a 5-3 win over Dilligaf. Despite the sluggish game played by the Red and White, the Dragons managed to score two goals late to seal the win.

Led by Joe Morrissey (2g 1a) and Jim Gaglione (2g), the Dragons put themselves in position to finish the regualr season as high as 4th place. Rounding out the scoring was Steve Lamonica (1g 1a), Doug Stewart (2a), Rit Carter (2a), and Mike Connors & Ray Glowicki with 1 assist each.

The Draghons close out the regular season next friday March 7th at 7PM against Runnin on E.

Deposit Needed for Next Season
Need $$ to Reserve Our Spot (2/25)

With registration underway for the next season, we are in need of some other Dragons to place some money down in order to reserve our spot for the next season. Registration end on 3/7 and the next season starts on or after 3/19.

If you can put any amount down just to show the rink our good faith. Thank you Team Management.

Dragons Drop Tough One
Lose 5-3 to Canadiens (2/23)

The Dragons lost a hard fought game friday to the Canadiens 5-3. In a very physical game, the Dragons battled the opponent all night. this writer got the feeling from watching that the blue clad Canadiens thought it would be easier than it was and the game would be over soon after dropping the ball in the first period.

The Dragons were led by Doug Stewart (2g 1a), Jim gaglione (1g), and East Hartford Mafia members and brothers Mike and Dennis Connors (1 assist a piece).

The Blanc et Rouge are back at the .500 level again with 2 games remaining. Needing one win to clinch a playoff berth (Link to the Schedule for the playoff dates), it appears as if the Dragons should finish 4th or 5th and look to be on a collision course with Goodfellas in the first round.

Up next is Dilligaf Friday 2/28 @ 8PM.

Dragons Rebound
Take Down Goodfellas 4-1 (2/19)

The Dragons rebounded from a horrific loss on Saturday to defeat the Goodfellas tonight. Quoting goalie Eric Vieweg "this was our best game so far this season". That was the state of affairs as the Dragons only allowed 12 shots on net tonight.

Leading the scoring tonight was Doug Stewart (1g 2a). Rounding out the scoring were Jim Gaglione, Ray Glowicki and Mike Connors (1g 1a). Also adding helpers were Dennis Connors and Steve Lamonica.

This puts the Dragons at 5-4 heading into Friday night's game with the high powered Canadiens team and solidifies their playoff position.

The next game is Friday (2/21) @ 7PM vs said Canadiens.

Dragons Lose It in Third
Drop One to Green Chiefs (2/15)

The Dragons lost to the Greenchiefs 8-4 Satuday evening. In what has been described as the worst minute and a half in Dragons history, the Red and White allowed 5 goals in that forgettable time frame.

The Dragons had just taken a 4-3 lead in the 3rd period when disaster struck with 4:40 to play and by the time the 3 minute mark arrived the Dragons were down for good on the losing end of an 8-4 deficit.

The Dragons scoring came from Ray Glowicki (1g 1a), Jim Gaglione, Doug Stewart (1g 1a), and Joe Morrissey (1g 1a). Also tallying assists tonight was Mike Connors.

The worst part of the game was giving up 5 goals to Tiger Woods aka #77 and his 7 iron from the fairway.

Up next for the Dragons is Goodfellas Wednesday 2/19 @8PM.

Shorthanded Win for the Dragons
4-1 Over Pioneer Mortgage (2/13)

The shorthanded Dragons beat Pioneer Mortgage 4-1 tonight behind a Hattrick from Steve Lamonica. And again keeping the Dragons from self-destructing was goalie Eric Vieweg who stopped 21 of 22 shots faced.

Also getting into the scoring column tonight were Ray Glowicki (1g 1a), Joe Morrissey (2a), and adding a single assist each were Mike Connors, Dave Carter and Doug Stewart.

Despite being undermanned tonight (6 regulars out with the rare yet non-lethal version of the Himulayan Flu) The Dragons pulled within 2 points of 4th place with the win. They are up next on Saturday (2/15) at 9PM versus the Greenchiefs.

Dragons Win 3-1
Defeat Dilligaf (2/10)

The Dragons beat a stubborn Dilligaf team tonight 3-1. Leading the way for the Dragons was Eric Vieweg in net (20 shots 19 saves). Leading the offense was EHM member Dennis Connors (1g 1a), and some new guy named Mick (1g 1a).

Also tallying a goal tonight was assistant captain Rit Carter. Adding helpers were Jim Gaglione and Doug Stewart.

The Dragons played in a must win situation after losing to the Whale on Friday. They have gotten back to .500 and to quote R. Carter "we're back in the hunt". With the continually improving offense, the final 6 games of the regular season could prove interesting for the division leaders.

Up next for the Dragons is Pioneer Mortgagge, Thursday 2/13 @ 7PM.

Drop Heartbreaker to the Whalers
Offense Picking Up (2/8)

The Dragons lost last night to the Whalers 5-4. Despite the tough loss, the Dragons take a positive out this game as the offense seems to be coming alive after an anemic start to the season.

Getting three goals from the EHM members Joe Morrissey (2) and Mike Connors (1) and a single tally from Doug Stewart the Dragons still could not hold off a speedy Whale tonight. Adding helpers tonight were Jim Gaglione (4) and Morrissey (1), Stewart (1) and forward Ray Glowicki (1).

The Dragons conmtinue their 6 game in two week stretch Monday (2/10) night with a game against Dilligaf at 9PM and Thursday (2/13) against Pioneer Mortgage 7PM.

Game 4 Win over the Iguanas
Outmanned opponent no match for Dragons (2/2)

The Dragons made their way back to the .500 level Friday night with a 7-1 win over the Killer Iguanas. In a game which was probably decided when the opening puck was dropped, the Dragons managed to outlast a feisty group of Iguanas.

On a perpetual power play all game (they played short all night), the Dragons were led by 2 goals from Steve Lamonica and single tallies from - Jim Gaglione, Dennis Connors, Doug Stewart, Ray Glowicki and Rit Carter.

Adding helpers were Joe Morrissey (2), Glowicki (3), Stewart (2), and single assists from - DAve Spencer, Mike Connors, Rit Carter, Dennis Connors and Jim Gaglione.

Up next for the Dragons is Division Leading Whalers (5-1) next friday at 9PM.

Winless Streak Ends
Beat Winless Pioneer Mortgage 5-4 (1/24)

The Dragons ended their 2 game losing skid with a 5-4 win over winless Pioneer Mortgage. This was a good news bad news kind of game for the Dragons. First the good news, the offense finally showed up scoring 5 goals. But the bad news was that we totally let them back into a game we should have controlled totally. But a W is a W in any book.

Scoring tonight for the Dragons were - Ray Glowicki (scored the game winner) 2 goals 1 assist, Jim Gaglione and Dennis Connors 1 goal and 2 assists each, Doug Stewart 1 and 1, and the defense chipped in with 2 assists, 1 each from Chris Szymula and Mick Pechenuk.

Up next for the Dragons is the Killer Iguana, 1/31 @8PM.

Dragons Drop to 0-2
Goodfellas Squeak One Out (1/13)

The Dragons dropped to 0-2 on the new season with a 3-1 loss to the Goodfellas. Despite a much better offensive effort than the opener, the Dragons were still outshot 34-29. Ray Glowicki scored the only goal for the Red and White.

Dragons historians only had to go back 3 seasons to find a similar start when the Dragons went 0-2 in the non-championship season in F when the Fishsticks eventually ran away with everything. They also had a similar start to their first championship season six seasons back.

The Dragons have almost 2 full weeks to lick their wounds before facing Pioneer Mortgage on the 24th @ 7PM.

Dragons Announce Roster Changes
Additions, Deletions and Returns (1/9)

Team Management has announced some roster changes for the current season. the major change in the Dragon lineup sees MVP Goalie Jim Marks leaving the Dragons to make more time for the many personal appearances that winning the MVP has made upon his time. Replacing Marks in net is goalie turned defenseman turned goalie Eric Vieweg.

In another roster move, the Dragons see the return of stalwart winger Jim Gaglione to the lineup. After taking a season off for some minor outpatient surgery, he will rejoin the team along with recently acquired winger Joe Morrissey. Morrissey saw limited action with the Dragons last season as his contract details could not be finalized until after the playoffs were completed.

Dragons Drop Opener
Lose 2-1 (1/3)

The Dragons lost tonight 2-1 to "Runnin on E" aka Flat Tires in the opening game of the Three Peat season. Making 25 saves on 27 shots was goalie Eric Vieweg and scoring the lone tally for the Dragons (with less than minute to play) was Jim "I guess I ain't hurt no more!" Gaglione.

Playing on a stormy night with many players missing due to hazardous conditions the Dragons on hand made a go of it. Allowing only single tallies in the first and second periods while Vieweg kept ROE at bay. Gaglione scored as the 6th attacker and the Dragons failed to convert with about 30 seconds left as Dave Carter hit the crossbar.

Up next for the Dragons is perrenial contender Goodfellas, Saturday 1/11 at 5PM.
