My passion in life is fitness and promoting it to people
from all walks of life. I currently teach combat to law enforcement
candidates, women’s self-defence,
aerobics as well as providing freelance personal training in the
Kingston area. I train people from novice to athletic fitness background at The Kingston Military
Community Sports Centre (KMCSC),
Kingston Body Management (KBM), The
Ambassador Hotel, and their own homes.
I have over 12 years of active martial arts training in Taekwondo, Jiu Jitsu, Judo and T’ai Chi. I currently focus on
combining all of the martial arts into “real-life” freestyle stand
up fighting and submission wrestling, also known as grappling.
My on-going interest and research in self-defence has
evolved into a book called “Self-Defence for
Women.”
I presently teach women’s self-defence at Queen’s
University, KMCSC and give workshops throughout the Kingston
Community and Elementary and Secondary schools. In addition I also
provide physical/combat training to law enforcement candidates.
I received a B.Sc. Degree in Engineering
and a teaching degree (Bachelor of Education) specialized in secondary
chemistry and math, at Queen’s
University Kingston, Ontario.

Youri Cormier,
RMC Masters Student,
May 2005
I was chosen to relive
the Voyageur experience for a documentary television series. That meant
I would be canoeing from Montreal to Winnipeg over the summer. With only
one month ahead of me, I noticed there was a problem: I had reached a
hopeless plateau six months earlier. My workout kept me in shape, but I
felt no serious improvement. Then Hang evaluated what was holding me
back. She placed me on a strict cardio and weights training program
focused on my weak areas, coupled with dietary suggestions, and within a
week, I noticed changes. Once the weaknesses were corrected, my
strengths were able to develop further. After only one month of intense
training, I lost ten pounds, I put on muscle mass, and I felt healthier,
stronger and as ready as can be for this expedition. Thanks Hang!
Corina, Mother of Two, Personal Support Worker.
"I have really seen a difference in my
kickboxing these past couple of months! Hang's positive energy and
expertise have been very motivating. I can still hear her words of
encouragement when I am doing
Sharon, Social Worker &
Fitness Enthusiast.
"I've been training on my own for years and started to plateau. So, I
called Hang. I was amazed with the results her programs have given me,
not to mention her continuing support and coaching. My body looks toner
and feels tighter. I am happy that I can now fit into my old clothes,
just in time for the summer."
PC, Army
"I was hitting a wall after years of training. Hang's
creativity and her knowledge of the physio/swiss ball have really helped
made my program fun...not the mention the great results I'm seeing."

important, my focus is on the education of my participants, I strive to
inform and teach the participants in a way that will encourage and
reinforce positive and appropriate lifestyle modification such as
healthy eating, active living, increased confidence, self-esteem and
self-control.
