As The Lion King was deeply rooted in Shakespeare's Hamlet, so this is deeply rooted in Romeo and Juliet. Here, we are introduced to Simba's daughter, Kiara. She falls in love with Kovu, a member of a banished pride, who has been hand chosen by Scar to follow in his paw prints. This film is a worthy follow-up to The Lion King. It's only drawback is that it seems to drag a little bit.
