V FOR VENDETTA
2005 ***** 132 mins.
In all honesty, I can't remember when I have ever been as enthralled and excited seeing a new film in the theatre as I was when I saw V for Vendetta. This film had me hooked from the very first frame. At the end, I had a huge smile on my face and an incredible excited feeling in my heart and sould. I can't think of hardly any other film that has ever made me feel the way this film does.
Natalie Portman plays Evey Hammond, who comes into the presence and mercy of a mysterious masked terrorist named V (played marvellously by Hugo Weaving). This film is a spectacular screen adaptation of the graphic novel, as well as a powerful political allegory to the world we live in today. All that can really be said is, "Remember, remember, the fifth of November . . . "
Rated R for strong violence and some language.
