Coach's Comments
2003 Titans

    4/15/03 - Glenwood
First I have to be honest and tell you that this is coming from Denver with the deepest regrets that I was not there. But on the bright side, my phone rang right after the game to tell me what I waited to hear, WE WON. Congratulations to all of you for a well played and executed game. Here is what Sid passed on to me in all of his excitment. We executed well and played the best defensive game that one could expect. Our defense with Seth Jackson, Dan Gulden, Zach Paulson, and Luke Thomsen really stepped up and played their hearts out. Pat Powers scored about 12 minutes plus into the game and from there we put together what we needed to shut them out. Justin Toole played a great great game and took the lead of his counter part Mr Scott Versch and logged his first shut out of the young season against a great team. Andy Himes also played a super game and left evertthing he had to give on the field. We mad some shifts on the field tonight and played people in different positions to do what we needed to do to walk away with a win. I don't think we played as well as we are capable of playing but at the same time we won. Thursday will be a big challange as we go to Sioux City to take on number 4 in the state Sioux City North. My job is to award Laffy Taffy's to the people who score and the defense for shut outs. My challange to the team and the defense from Denver is double or nothing. Our goal is one game at a time. I put my payout on the line to be awarded to the team after Thursday. I will double tonights payout and up it to every member of the team with a win on Thursday. I beleive in you and I know you believe in the team. Good luck Gentlemen on Thursday.

JV on the other hand fell short and logged their first loss in a game 0-1 that should have been won 6 or 7 to nothing. Like Varsity we are not finishing our opportunities and putting teams away when we have the opportunities. JV logged their first lost of the season but not because they didn't try. We totally dominated the game and the final score doesn't signify what truely happened on the field. Opportunity after opportunity went no where. Very frustrating and funny to watch. We are young and beleive me when I say this team will shine in it's time. Just stick around. This team will gel in it's time and I just hope that you are ready for it when we do. Keep up the hard work gentlemen, the payoff will be one you can't dream of.
