Dragons Close Out Campaign with Loss
4-1 to Heavybreathing (6/2)

The Dragons looked lackluster in their season ender last night dropping a 4-1 loss at the hands of Heavybreathing. Scoring the lone goal was Steve Lamonica.

Despite the loss, the Dragons still managed a third place finish with a 5-6-1 record. The first time in 9 season with a record below .500.

Dragons Notch Win
2-1 Over Heavybreathing (6/2)

The Dragons knocked off Heavybreathing yesterday and clinched a third place finish with a 2-1 win. The Blanc et Rouge did what they needed to over an undermanned team of Breathers.

Scoring yesterday for the Dragons were Rit Carter and Jim Gaglione. Adding helpers were Mike Connors, Steve Lamonica, Mick Pechenuk and Dennis Connors.

Up next for the Dragons: Heavybreathing Tusday night at 9PM and then the playoffs begin on sunday 6/8.

Win Clinches Playoff Berth
Win 7-3 Over Whalers (5/31)

The Dragons clinched their 10th consecutive trip to the playoffs last evening with a 7-3 win over the Whalers. By beating the Whale the Dragons knocked the defending E Champs out of playoff contention.

Having 4 players wearing the number 5 on the deck last night (2 on each side) and each of them scored and accounted for 8 of the ten total goals scored in the game (oops sorry little digression there).

Scoring tonight for the Dragons were Steve Lamonica (1g), Joe Morrissey (3g), Jim Gaglione (2g) and Chris Szymula (1g). Adding helpers last night were Keith Little (2a), Dave Carter (1a), and Mike Connors (1a).

Up next for the Dragons is a home and home with Heavybreathing Sunday @4 and Tusday @9.

Homies Paste Dragons
8-2 Loss Endangers Playoffs (5/28)

The Homies put a hurtin on the Dragons last night. Posting an 8-2 win over the Blanc et Rouge, the homies placed the Dragons in danger of not making the playoffs for the first time in 9 seasons.

After tying the game at 2 at the 3:40 mark of the first period, the Dragons could not recover from two quick goals over the next minute ten. The official scorer had the shots 37-16 in favor of the Homies but froma casual observer it seemed more like 60-16.

Scoring tonight for the Dragons were Joe Morrissey (2g), with Chris Szymula (2a) and Steve Lamonica (1a) chipping in with assists.

The Dragons are up next on Friday 5/30 at 9PM against the Whalers. They then finish up the regular season next week with a home and home against Heavybreathing on Sunday and Tuesday.

Playoff Schedule Posted
Dragons Could Finish as High as 3rd (5/22)

The Playoff schedule is posted. The first game is slated for June 8th at 3PM (1st vs 4th). A recent discussion with Dragons management had them optimistic they could finish as high as third place this season. Given the rocky start that's quite an accomplishment.

Dragons Blow Out Guiness
Stewart Nets 5 & Mike U Nets First! (5/19)

The Dragons let off some steam Sunday, notching a 10-0 win over Team Guiness (undermanned most of the game). The Dragons were led by Doug Stewart's 5 goals and Mike Ugliorolo's FIRST EVER AS A DRAGON! Also netting goals Sunday were: Chris Szymula, Rit Carter, Joe Morrissey, and Jim Gaglione.

Chipping in with helpers were Gaglione (4), Mike Connors (3), Stewart (2), Steve Lamonica (2) and Carter, Morrissey and Szymula each with 1.

And once again in net was Eric Vieweg with 14 saves in just over 21 minutes of play.

Iguanas Tame Dragons
Six Goal First Period Sez it All (5/14)

Well the Dragons laid an egg on Tuesday night and a rotten one at that. Allowing 6 goals in the first period the Dragons lost 6-2 to the Killer Iguanas. Scoring those six on an amazing 41 shots (seemed like more), the Iguanas came out hot and never looked back after scoring less than a minute into the game.

Doug Stewart netted both Dragons scores in the second and third periods, with helpers from Jim gaglione, and two from Dennis Connors.

the Dragons will attempt to put this one behind them in time for their next game, on Sunday May 18th at 4PM against Team Guiness.

Dragons Deadlock Homies
Notch 2-2 Tie with Division Leaders (5/12)

The Dragons posted a 2-2 overtime tie with the Division Leading Homies on Saturday. Down 2-0 after 2 periods, the Dragons took control of the third period and behind a pair goals by EHM member Mike Connors and tied the Homies.

For change the Dragons actually outshot their opponent (33-32) and once again netminder Eric Vieweg kept the Blanc et Rouge close with his usual acrobatic goaltending.

Doug Stewart notched a pair of assists and Mike Ugliorolo added a helper as well. Up next for the Dragons is the Killer Iguana Tuesday 5/13 @ 10PM.

Dragons Hockey Lost Recordings
Game 5 Recording Stolen? (5/5)

The Game 5 Post game show has unexplicably and mysteriously vanished. Executives at the Flagship Station for Dragons Hockey have not returned our calls regarding the Game 5 Postgame.

However, our investigators have been able to unearth the following information. It seems that the post game show host (Frank Sturgeons) was nowhere to be found after the game (it was rumoured that he was later found wandering the streets of Southington with a little pink umbrella drink stirer in his pockets and a Blue Parrot matchbook in his beer). So high school intern, Sparky Rosenbloom, took a shot at the Post Game Show.

Once recorded, Sparky was then to have turned the sound bite over to the station manager for review. Well the station manager and Dragons Post Game Show producers vehemently deny any recording for game 5, stating that there never was a post game show for that game.

Frank Sturgoens was later caught on video tape leaving Cedar Crest hospital in Newington with Sparky Rosenbloom after being treated for an "undisclosed" illness.

If anyone has any information on the current whereabouts of this "missing" recording please contact Dragons Management.

Run Winning Streak to 2 (4/28)

The Dragons scored early and held off a second period blitz by Heavybreathing to notch their second consecutive victory 3-1. Despite being outshot (as usual) 29-28, the Dragons pulled off the W tonight with solid play in front of stellar netminder Eric Vieweg.

Scoring for the Dragons were Chris Szymula, Jim Gaglione and Mick Pechenuk (empty net). Helpers tonight from Rit Carter and Dennis Connors. Up next for the Blanc et Rouge is the Division leading Homies, Saturday May 10th at 7PM.

Dragons Rally for Win
Notch First Victory of Spring Season (4/16)

The Dragons rallied from a 0-2 deficit to defeat Team Guiness on Tuesday night. The Dragons scored 4 unaswered goals in the span of about 5 minutes between the late second and starting the third periods. Joe Morrissey started things off with a Power Play goal followed by Doug Stewart, Jim Gaglione (also netted an empty netter late) and Mike Connors.

In a game marred by spotty officiating and an appearance by Bill Goldberg the Dragons stemmed a 4 game losing streak dating back into last season's playoffs.

Adding assists for this game were - Rit Carter, Dave Spencer, Morrissey, Connors and Gaglione. Once again solid in net was goalie Eric Vieweg, sstopping 22 of 25 shots on net.

Up next for the Dragons, almost two weeks off before coming back to face Heavybreathing (aka Runnin on E, Fishsticks 2) on Monday April 28th at 8PM.

Iguanas Bite Dragons
Dragons Now 0-3 (4/12)

The Killer Iguanas beat the Dragons 3-1 (4/7), making the Dragons 0-3 for the first time in 9 seasons. Outshot 28-16, the Dragons could not muster enough offense to overcome their opponent.

Scoring tonight for the Dragons was Rit Carter with an assist from Dennis Connors. Once again the goaltending of netminder Eric Vieweg kept the Dragons hopes alive with 25 saves on 28 shots.

Up next for the Blanc et Rouge is Team Guiness Tuesday 4/15 at 10PM.

Second Jersey?
Do you guys want one? (4/2)

Dragons management is wondering, do you guys want to get a second jersey? This link has a number of jersey suggestions to choose from. We don't have to go with one of these,we could get the reverse of our white jersey also. Or submit a design of your own.

Prices for these blank jerseys range anywhere from $15 to $22 each without any printing done on them (the Ottawa jersey Choice 4 being the most expensive to date at $22). Let me know what you guys want to do. Send me an email, leave a note on the Forum, whatever but let me know what yas would like to do.

Dragons Drop to 0-2
Third Consecutive Loss to the Whalers (4/1)

In what seems like a cruel April Fool's joke, the Dragons lost to the Whalers for the third game in a row, going back to last season's playoffs. In this 3-2 loss the Dragons played better than the prior two games but still did not manage enough offense to overcome the Whale.

Down 2-0 in the third the Dragons managed to tie it up on a pair of goals by Doug Stewart only to give up the ulitmate winner less than a minute later. Playing well in the loss were goaltender Eric Vieweg and defenseman Mike Ugliorolo. Adding helpers tonight were Chris Szymula, Dave Spencer and Joe Morrissey.

Up next for the Dragons is the Killer Iguana Monda April 7th at 8PM.

Game 1 Report
News Flash! (3/31)

Here is Frank Sturgeons with the report on game 1. This report from the flagship station for Dragons Hockey for the playoffs.

Open with a Thud!
The Spring Campaign opens with a loss (3/30)

Well the new season opened Saturday night with a matchup with the Whalers (defending E deck Champs). And that matchup produced a loss (7-4). With former Dragon winger Ray Glowicki netting 4 goals, the Dragons just ran out of gas after taking a 3-0 lead early in the first. But that off-season conditioning program did not seem to be paying any dividends for the red and white on this night as the Whale just went wherever they wantede after the half way point in the game.

Leading the scoring tonight was Jim Gaglione (2g), Rit Carter (1g 2a) and Mike Connors (1g). Tossing in helpers were Steve Lamonica and Dennis Connors.

Up next for the Dragons is, what this can't be right, the Whalers Tuesday 4/1 at 10PM.

You asked for it. You've waited for it and here it is! This report from the flagship station for Dragons Hockey for the playoffs.

Roster Changes - Cubed
Yet More Changes for The Dragons Spring Campaign (3/10)

Surprising developments on the Dragons roster! First it was announced that All-star defenseman Mick "The Flick" Pechenuk will be going from full-time status to part-time status. Pechenuk and his agent were unavailable for comment as to why the sudden change in status. Some team insiders feel it may be due inpart to the demands made upon his time by his agent for personal appearances at local card shows.

Second in a move reminiscent of Rit Carter returning from the retirement grave, an original Dragon/Horde player is returning to the team on a part time basis, Center/Winger Keith Little recently signed a contract with management to come back to play for the franchise he is credited with naming.

Thirdly, jack of all trades Chris "The Schmoo" Szymula has agreed to change his status from part time to full time in order fullfill the contractual clauses in his current agreement.

Stay tuned to this news channel for more impending news on the Dragons for the upcoing season.

Roster Changes - Part Deux
Yet More Changes for The Dragons Spring Campaign (3/18)

The contract talks between goalie Jim Marks and Dragons management have broken off. Marks citing the need to continue his MVP Tour and Book signing appearances has decided not to play for the Dragons in the upcoming season. This change places Eric Vieweg back in net for the Spring season. Other developments to follow, stay tuned to this network for more Dragons News.

Roster Changes for the Spring Season
Who's in, Who's out (3/17)

The roster for the Spring season was announced recently by team management. This season sees some changes from the prior season as the Dragons attempt to return to their Championship ways.

First, re-joining the Dragons will be goalie Jim Marks. Contract talks are still underway but management is hopeful that the details can be worked out to bring the netminder back into the fold. By the adding of the aforementioned Marks, current goalie Eric Vieweg moves out to play D (where it seems to be much safer for him).

In the Noticeable Departures category, the on-again/off-again relationship between the Dragons and forward Ray Glowicki is off-again. This is a significant loss to the Dragons and team management would hope to be able to bring the affable Glowicki back at some time in the future. Reasons for this departure remain a mystery and neither team Captain Dave Carter or Assistant Capt. Rit Carter were available for comment. Some team insiders feel the exit of Glowicki was timed to coincide with the Spring Equinox and the re-emergence of the Druids for their annual Stonehenge Pilgramage. Rumors running rampant at PISA have Raymond joining the dreaded Whalers prompting the players on his pee-wee team to say, "Say it isn't so, Ray, say it isn't so....".

Moving from full-time to part-time status is forward/defenseman Chris Szymula. It seems that "The Schmoo" is adding another addition to his own hockey dynasty and is needing to arrange more practice time for his own "home team".

Second Jersey for the Dragons
Make your voice heard on the Forum (3/17)

Team Management is exploring the idea of an "Away" jersey to go with our Home White. It is only an investigation at the moment trying to see if there is interest. Whether you are or not stop by the Dragons Forum and make your opinion heard.

Season Ends with Loss
Dropped by Whalers 6-2 (3/15)

The Dragons ended their season with a 6-2 stinker of a loss to the Whalers. Managing a mere 9 shots, the Dragons were outplayed, outhustled and outwitted all night long. The Whalers go on to play the Greenchiefs tonight at 6PM in the semi-finals.

With the loss, the string of consecutive Championships ends at 2.

Scoring for the Dragons were Mick Pechenuk and Jim Gaglione. With helpers from Doug Stewart and Dennis Connors.

The Dragons now await the begining of the next campaign starting on Saturday March 29th @7PM against these very same Whalers.

Spring Schedule Announced
Division Shrinks by 3 Teams! (3/12)

The Spring 2003 Schedule is out. PISA Officials today released the schedules for the upcoming Spring season. The D Divison has been reduced by three teams, mainly due to teams not returning. The most visible missing ones are Goodfellas and Greenchiefs. Also not returning are the Canadiens and Pioneer Mortgage. Dilligaf has been dropped back down to F. Team Guiness joins the Division dropping from D. Heavybreathing is the Fishstick clone we have come to know as Runnin on E from the current season.

Returning teams we recognize are the aforementioned Heavy, also the Whalers and Killer Iguanas. A new team to the Division is Homies but I think this may be the former Wiremold team coming back up from F (undefeated season).

Special thanks to Dennis C.

For the impetus to create a Dragons web page. And for more than just a little of the HTML!
