BIOME TYPE/HABITAT: Temperate Deciduous Forest NUTRITION: All mammals and fish, some northern reptiles and amphibians ORGANISM INTERACTION: Solitary hunter (usually male), lives in den with female(s) and cubs, predator to all animals except birds and insects and tree animals, prey only to the largest birds BEHAVIOR: breeding season during late summer, birth during early spring, 2-5 cubs per litter, male hunts for the cubs and female feeds the young through her milk, male and female stay together during their lifespan. |
