Neopets Art

I love Neopets! Not only is it fun, and cool, and addictive, but it taught me almost everything I know about drawing. ^.~ All this stuff spans a year and a half of my art, so some of the earlier stuff is... *cough* certainly not what I'm drawing now. x.X Sorted from oldest to newest, as always. Due to the sheer volume of my Neopets drawings, I'm going to try to get them all up, but if I get bored halfway through and start putting up just a few samples, then you'll know why. x.X I'm also not going to put up my fan art for other people, or art trades, or pics that are too small for me to make a good thumbnail from them. The name(s) of the pet(s) in the drawing are underneath the thumbnail.

All of these (with a few exceptions) were drawn with pencil and paper, scanned in, and colored on the computer. Some were colored just from the pencil lines, others from a fine-tip pen outline, and the most recent ones re-outlined on the computer with the mouse before coloring. Colored and manipulated with Adobe PhotoDeluxe 4.0 and the mouse.

HINT: Unless you've got a morbid sense of humor or are obsessed with me or something, don't even bother with the first 5 pages or so. -.-;;

Maani Whee, I always liked this pic, too. ^^ It's supposed to be what Maani dreams of, flying with huge wings of fire. The image quality isn't really good, due to me not erasing the gray stuff that came from scanning the paper. Too bad I can't remember the sequence of effects I did on the wings, either. ^^;

Rya My first pic of Ryama the Ixi. As I was on vacation when I drew this and didn't have a ref pic of an Ixi on hand, it became a pretty free adaptation, leading to my Ixi style. At the same time, I was trying to make this a baby pic, so I exagerrated the head, ears, and eyes. The anatomy is okay for my old stuff, but I wish I hadn't used such a dark color for the shading. o.O;

Rya Hee, look at Rya concentrating so much on a flower. ^^ The pose is adorable, and this is when I finally started getting Ixi face markings right. ^^; I do like this pic a lot. If only I'd done a better job with her hooves.

Maani, Rya When Ryama was first born, Maani took an immediate big brother role in protecting her. That's what this pic is mostly about. I should have worked more on his face, though. It looks kinda doughy this way. o.O; The background is kinda plain, too.

Plat A very simple pic of Plat, with which I first experimented with shading. The shape of the wing was in need of work even then, but it did become a much-needed centerpiece to Plat's new petpage. I should have erased where the light blue went out of the lines on his forehead. ^^;
