Season Ends with Loss and No Playoffs
Consecutive Shutout Losses Close Season (8/19)

The summer season ended with a thud on the Dragons and for the first time in 9 seasons the Dragons are not in the playoffs. Heavybreathing dropped the Dragons 4-0 Tuesday night and with it kept the Dragons on the outside looking in on the playoffs.

Pressed into emergency duty between the pipes, Chris Szymula did yoeman work while the team awaited the arrival of netminder Doug Stewart.

The loss left the Dragons 5-7 and waiting for the next session to begin sometime after Labor Day. Look for the schedule to be posted late next week as it will be released on Wednesday the 26th.

See you all next season!

Dragons Celebration
Connors Throws a Mean Shindig (8/16)

A handful of Dragons managed to make the drive out to Colchester on Saturday to attend the first Dragons Celebration. Mike U, The Carter Boys and The Connors Clan were in "the House" (mainly beacuase of the thunderstorm) and all enjoyed the time away from the deck for some pool and home movies! Click here for more details and pics from the party! But the one activity not recorded was the Frank Sturgeons impression contest won by none other than Frank himself!

Dragons Dropped by Red Alert
Face Pivotal Game for Playoff Berth (8/16)

The Dragons lost 3-0 to Red Alert Friday night. Allowing 2 goals by former Dragon Kathy Higgins in the loss. Playing solid once again net was Doug Stewart. Just not having enough bodies to combat a full Red Alert squad the Dragons lost their legs in the third period.

The Dragons now face a do or die game on Tuesday night against Heavybreathing for the 4th and final playoff spot at 9PM.

Spencer to the DL??
Dragon Defenseman Suffers Broken Toe (7/17)

Representatives for Dragon defenseman Dave Spencer held a news conference this week to announce that Spencer would be out for the foreseeable future. This due to a broken toe suffered while trimming a hangnail prior to last friday's game against Kung Four.

Spencer's medical staff announced at this gathering that if the healing process were to be disturbed by playing on said toe, that surgery may be an option to insert a pair of 6 inch stainless screws into the broken appendage in order to encourage the healing process. Doctors could give no firm estimate as to the length of time Spencer will miss only to estimate sometime between 2 games and 2 seasons.

Back-to-back Letdown
Drop to 3-3 with 4-0 loss to Heavybreathing (7/15)

Playing their 3rd game in 5 days, the Dragons dropped a 4-0 loss to Heavybreathing. Showing some ill effects from the thrilling win the night before the Dragons fell behind 2-0 in the first period and never recovered.

Doug Stewart was once again solid in net and kept the game close making 36 saves on 40 shots and an incredible 16 of 18 in the first period.

Up next for the Dragons is Kung Four next tuesday night (7/22) at 9PM.

Revenge Never Tasted So Sweet!
Stewart and Connors Lead the Way (7/14)

The Dragons record improved to 3-2 on tonight with a 3-2 victory over Kung Four and avenged an ealier loss to the same team. Once again the Hot-hand of net minder Doug Stewart and the scoring from Dennis Connors led the way as a short handed Dragons squad (1 sub) upended the KF team!

Scoring the game winner on the Power Play was Dave Carter and adding assists tonight were Mike Connors, Rit Carter, Dennis Connors and Jim Gaglione. Stewart led the defensive mined effort tonight with 34 saves on 36 shots. The Dragons managed to keep their shot selection to a minimum (19 recorded) while managing to maximize the goal output.

the Blanc et Rouge have little time to rest on their laurels as they face Heavybreathing Tuesday night at 9PM.

Dragons Improve to 2-2
Morrissey and Stewart Lead the Way (7/12)

The Dragons record improved to 2-2 on FRiday with a 2-1 victory over REd Alert behind the overtime last second goal by Joe Morrissey and the Hot-hand of net minder Doug Stewart!

Gear Needeed!
Donations Welcome! (7/2)

As it seems every game, we never get any of our game balls back and now we as a team are down to near none. If you have not previously donated please donate at least two game balls to the team inventory. We are despartely short of this item at the time.

Storm Clouds Over Dragons
Drop 4-2 Decision to Storm (7/2)

It Seems the theme to this season is run short run hard. As the Storm dropped a 4-2 defeat on the shorthanded Dragons. ALthough making it a game against this D Division team, the shorthanded situation was just a little more than the Dragons could handle. This was the first time seeing FORMER Dragon Mick Pechenuk in action since his team dropped down a level.

Tallying both goals tonight for the Dragons was EHM Joe Morrissey, with assists from Jim Gaglione and Mike Connors.

Also playing a solid game again in net was netminder Doug Stewart, stopping 40 of 44 shots on the evening. This loss drops the Dragons to 1-2 on the young season, but still very much in the hunt for a playoff berth.

The next game for the Blanc et Rouge is Friday July 11th at 9PM.

Dragons Bounce Back
Drop Horsemen 6-2 (6/25)

Once again running short, the Dragons notched their first win of the summer season with a 6-2 victory over the Horsemen. With only 2 subs the Dragons made quick changes and managed to keep fresh legs on the deck most of the time.

Leading the scoring for the Dragons was Dennis Connors' hattrick (3g 1a), Joe Morrissey (2g 1a) and Steve Lamonica (1g 1a). Notching helpers tonight were Rit Carter (2a) and Mike Connors.

Doing a stellar job in net was Doug Stewart (34 shots 32 saves). Up next for the Dragons is The Storm next Tuesday 7/1 at 9PM.

Dragons Drop Opener
Depleted Squad Falls 8-0 (6/22)

Well the summer season opened for the Dragons on Friday and a depleted squad lost 8-0 to Kung Four. It was a valiant effort put on by those who attended but only one sub left many of the blanc et rouge looking for the O2 early.

Up next for the Dragons is Horsemen Tuesday at 9PM.

Summer Season Schedule Released
Dragons Open on 6/20 (6/12)

The Dragons summer season starts on Fri June 20th at 9PM against a team called Kung Four. A quick perusal of the schedule sees most games on either a Tuesday or Friday and all but two game times at 9PM.

Only 1 team name looks familiar right now (Heavybreathing), but sometimes you never know who you're gonna see out there with the way some teams change names at the rink!

See you on the 20th!

Season Ends with a a Thud
Killer Iguanas End Dragons Season (6/12)
