( A )    WAS JESUS GOD WHILE ON EARTH?

When Jesus Christ was a man on earth, was He also God?

[16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.  -  1 Timothy 3:16

The apostle Paul writes that God was manifested in the flesh.  What was the name of the God/man who was manifested into a flesh and blood body?   His name was Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ was God the Saviour who came to earth to become a flesh and blood man.  The writer of Hebrews states;

9.  But we see
Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
-  Hebrews 2:9

14.  Forasmuch then
as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15.  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16.  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels;
but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17.  Wherefore in all things it behoved him
to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.  -  Hebrews 2:14-17

In Hebrews the writer is giving a clear description of the Saviour who was made like men.  That is to say that the Saviour took on the flesh and blood form for the express purpose of freeing sinful mankind from sin and its consequence, namely death.  Moreover, in the context of the 2nd chapter of Hebrews verse 9 clearly writes that it was Jesus who was made lower than the angels for the express purpose of tasting death for all men.  The words in verse 9, made a little lower than the angels , is the very same description of mankind in Psalms 8 verses 4-5.   The word phrase, made a little lower than the angels , in the writing of Hebrews 2 reveals that Jesus, God, took upon Himself the flesh and blood form as does all mankind.  Thus Jesus was fully God and fully man.
Furthermore, in verse 16, the Hebrews writer says that He, Jesus, took on Himself the seed of Abraham.  The apostle Paul confirms these writings of Hebrews as he writes about Jesus with these words;

16.  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one,
And to thy seed, which is Christ. -  Galations 3:16

29.  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
-  Gal. 3:29

Paul shows that Jesus Christ is the seed of Abraham.  Thereby confirming that the Saviour who came to earth to be made into a flesh and blood man, the seed of Abraham, was in truth Jesus Christ.  The God/man who walked on earth some 2,000 years ago was Jesus Christ.  Thus, Jesus Christ was also God even though He was a man while on earth.
