( G )   THOMAS WITNESS, HEBREWS AND THE JEWS

27.  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28.  And Thomas answered and said unto him,
My Lord and my God.
29.  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.  -  John 20:27-29

In Johns gospel is the testimony of Thomas as he confesses Jesus Christ is Lord and most importantly, God.  At no time after Thomas confession does Jesus make any rebuke or correction of Thomas words.   Simply because the confession which Thomas makes is true.  Jesus is God even though He was a physical man on earth.   The writer of Hebrews states these words;

8.  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.  -  Hebrews 1:8

Notice that God calls His own Son, God.  The words, he saith , is God the Father speaking and God is speaking to His Son, Jesus.  And in speaking to Jesus, God says, Thy throne, O God .  Thus God the Father is calling Jesus, God.

The Jews sought to stone and kill Jesus because being a man He claimed He was God;

17.  But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18.  Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath,
but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
-  John 5:17-18

30.  I and my Father are one.
31.  Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32.  Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33.  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and
because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.   -  John 10:30-33

45.  And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.  -  John 12:45

8.  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9.  Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?
he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
-  John 14:8-9

23.  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.  -  John 15:23

These scriptures clearly provide the evidence that Jesus and God the Father are one and the same.  It is the primary reason that the Jews and the religious authority of Jesus day wanted to stone and kill Him because the testimony of Jesus was that He in truth was God even though He was a physical man.  As concerning the disciple Philip, Jesus is amazed that Philip should even ask for Him to show them the Father.   Philip should have known the Father simply because Jesus and the Father are one and the same.   Jesus was the physical manifestation of God in a earthy body.  Jesus also states that whoever hates Him is at the same time hating God the Father.  Why would this be?  Simply because Jesus and God are one and the same.   Jesus is God and was God when He was a man on earth.
