( H )   ACTS 20:28  -  JESUS ( GOD ) PURCHASES HIS CHURCH WITH HIS OWN BLOOD

28.  Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.  -  Acts 20:28

In this scripture passage, the writer states that God had purchased the church with His own blood.  Based on the information of other scriptures, it is evident that Jesus Christ is the God who purchased His church with His own blood.

First of all, are the self proclaiming statements of Jesus Himself as stated in the gospels;

[28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.  -  Matt.  26:28

[24] And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.  -  Mark 14:24

[20] Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.  -  Luke 22:20

In each case, it is Jesus Christ who proclaims that it is His blood which is shed.  The blood of Jesus is shed for the purpose of remission of sins.  Secondly, there are other various scriptures which clearly prove that it is the blood of Jesus Christ who has purchased the church.  That is to say that Jesus Christ has redeemed His church from death and sins;

11.  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12.  Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13.  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14.  How much more shall
the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15.  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.  -  Hebrews 9:11-15

[18] Forasmuch as ye know that
ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
[19]
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
-  I Peter 1:18-19

7.  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  -  1 John 1:7

5.  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,  -  Revelation 1:5

In these passages, Christ Jesus is the sacrifice who offered up His blood in order to provide redemption for sinful mankind.  Redemption meaning to purchase.  Christ Jesus paid the price of salvation for the sinner.  Once the sinner becomes born-again, the sinner then becomes part of the body of Christ, i.e., the church.  Thus, the God who purchased, redeemed, the church with His blood as testified to in Acts 20:28 is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, Jesus Christ who was a physical man on earth was at the same time God on earth.
